For the love of God please don't trade down from 3. Just take whomever falls, it's easy. There isn't a realistic trade scenario I can think of that's worth trading down for.
You are truly the dumbest of the dumb. What does not wanting a big with no NBA body have to do with race? Moron.
Maybe we don't care if they suck next season, they aren't going to be contenders so may as well snag a quality draft pick along the way .... but I question how playing them together hinders the development of the team as a whole, particularly defensively. It doesn't take long to form bad habits .... It's hard to learn defense as it is , its harder when everyone is doing it wrong .... hard to know if you were in the right spot or made the right rotation when everyone else is in the wrong place too. That's a big part of why young teams need some veterans to help them along.
Great post @rimrocker ! Regarding the Paolo/Alp fit, I think We should give it a shot. Sengun is still a kid, who got into shape 2 years ago, and this is his first offseason in the NBA. If works hard this summer, which I think he will, you can bet We will see improvement in his stamina and agility. He will never be a rim protector, save for the occasional block, but he has good instincts, he hustles and he can play solid D. He's smart, uses his body well to box out, he just needs to be a little quicker to be passable on switches. If he cuts down his fouls and silly mistakes on D, he can work. And frankly, Paolo and Alp won't play all the minutes at 4/5. You give them 30 minutes each, and you're left with 36 minutes to fill with Garuba, hopefully Eason and a vet backup big man We get by trading our vets. I'm very interested in seeing what approach will the FO take this summer with the draft and how will the team take shape.
It’s so funny to me how people just KNOW for a fact that Banchero and Sengun won’t fit. Banchero hasn’t even played 1 nba game yet. Sengun has played 1 season. Their bodies aren’t even fully developed. Jabari hasn’t shown any kind of dribble package or shot creation package so that means he’ll never develop that? Cmon now.
It's not just two minus defenders, it's three (at least) Green (+have to start because of the high pick, and his offense, and development reasons) Paolo (+have to start because of the high pick, even if he plays doo-doo) Wood (until he's traded, he's still likely to start) So even if Alperen goes back to 2nd unit. you have three minus defenders. If Al-P starts, i put him near average, but if you count him as a negative defensively... that's four guys, if Silas opts in for a tri tower lineup (paolo 3, wood 4, sengun 5). Maybe Al-p and Jalen will take a step forward defensively (we hope). Are you guys ok with another really bad defensive year? KPJ - neutral Green KJ - neutral (if Tate / Gordon / Garrison are swapped out) Paolo Wood / Al-p And the 'figure it out thing'. It's not just IQ. When Theis was here, with a non shooter Tate. As bad as the offense, our defense was 16th at one point. That said Silas still had to pull the double big lineup, because defense wasn't elite enough and offense went to the toilet. Silas got lot of criticism for pulling out too late, why was that ? He was trying his best 'to figure it out'. I've my criticism of Silas, but he still knows basketball and has access to a lot more data than us. From the all the losses / blow-outs, it seems it's very difficult to figure it out. Unless magically Silas decides to start Bruno / Garuba over the likes of Paolo / Wood / Al-p (which I doubt; and agree politically he shouldn't), it doesn't take a fortune teller to see how next year's defense will play out.
A cash cow bridge to an international market with over a billion consumers? Minny is definitely foreign, but I didn't know they had it like that.
Lol cranky triggered moron. You need to rub one out to your Harden pictures. Sorry bro, you're never gonna be Lil Baby.
Curry and the Warriors are not going anywhere, we must not abandon everything Dantoni brought us. Build a team with firepower and 3 ball eruption.
I thought about that "needing vets" thing and now I dont really agree with it. Teams already have these "vets" on the coaching staff like Jeff Hornacek last year. You dont really see a lot of vet mins telling everyone where to be on the court if they are sitting on the bench. To tell others what to do you kinda need to have a position of authority, if you cant even be on the court I doubt a vet min will be telling Cade Cunningham how to run the team plays lol. Rockets winning didnt really prevent Harden from lesrning bad habits, in fact it enabled those bad habits. Embiid oth was born off The Process which was all about tanking but the dude is a true warrior on the court and didnt even let a cracked orbital and a torn hand ligament prevent him from playing.
Celtics just shut that jump shooting GSW team down. DEFENSE MATTERS Especially in the playoffs. And both Curry and Klay are all time great shooters with Poole not too far behind.
