If OKC swapped with Portland for the 7 pick (to grab Sharpe, for example), I could see Houston trying to move to 12 to pick up Dieng or Sochan.
That trade only happens of shape is gone because I doubt Mike Schmitz's opinion changed much from before he got hired
That would be a decent haul for Portland To walk away with Grant and Anunoby as foils to Lillard and Simons. They might want to ditch Nurkic if that worked out and get a straight rim-roller who just guards the key
Ayton is definitely not worth a max deal, but damn, do u just let him go when you’re trying to contend like PHX is?
Their hubris will be their downfall. “If Jalen Smith did well while Ayton was injured I’m sure we can plug in any big body into the starting lineup and be okay”
S&T with Detroit & Utah Detroit gets Ayton Phoenix gets Gobert. Utah gets Stewart, a haul of future picks & swaps from PHX/DET. Or they could ask for the 5th pick.
Nurkic is a free agent and I don’t think they’ll want to re-sign him as a starting center. But I agree; they’ll need to move away from Nurkic and find another center. Wouldn’t be surprised if they sign someone like Mitchell Robinson or Nic Claxton.
if I was a Suns fan, I’d be pissed despite what happened this year, PHX is still 1 of the few teams that could legitimately compete for a title How are u just gonna let a player like that go? They’re talking about a S&T, but S&Ts don’t typically bring back something amazing in return.
