Um, its ok to be a bad defensive player if you:
    1) Make it up on the offensive end
    2) Have good defensive teammates to cover for your ass
    3) Have a 7'6 center clogging the lane denying all comers

Ray Allen doesn't play defense either, but you don't hear the Celts complain, don't you?

You act like Nash is like a point guard version of Steve Novak when it comes to defense. Nash is a decent off the ball and weakside defender, its just that he doesn't have the build and lateral quickness to matchup against the elite pgs of the league which is why he always gets beat up by TP, Cp3 etc. With someone like Yao Ming and Battier in the roster, I think Nash's defensive deficiencies would be masked well.

With all the defensive restrictions imposed by the league, IMHO a huge part of being a good defensive team is having a big body clog the paint area and deny all comers. A huge reason why Nash always got toasted was because Amare wouldn't play defense like he was supposed to.

I'm really hoping Sarver loses even more money and is forced to have a firesale on his team. Then we can unload Tmac's expiring for Nash+fillers straight up, or maybe even add Ab0 to sweeten the pot a little. Imagine a line up with Artest, Shane, Nash, Scolandry and Yao, with Lowry waiting in the wings lol.

no, washington was listening to offers but didn't want to break up the nucleus, butler, jamison, and agent 0, they wanted to see a whole season with all 3 playing. good luck with that.
