Ron Artest's expiring contract, for starters, given PHX was in salary dump mode.

The Rockets also tried to get Cleveland to make a move with LeBron James — and the Rockets asked more than once — but the Cavs would have none of it.

Steve Nash made ~$12M this season. I wonder what Houston would have offered. My guess something along the lines of Artest, Landry and Brooks.

How does this guy even type with his hands wrapped around Tmac in a nice cozy hug?

That would have been a horrible trade. If Nash is struggling playing with Shaq what difference would it have been with Yao?? Nash needs a run n gun style. This is not a run n gun team with Yao on the court.

I see where you were going with this, but you really can't compare nash to lebron. maybe prior to him being exposed in the playoffs year after year, but definitely not now.

This is garbage. The Rockets could have asked for anyone in the league they wanted, but it doesn't mean the other team is listening. Just another Houston writer trying to feign like he has "inside information" when in reality he has nothing but a crappy non-story.

I'm glad the Suns wouldn't listen.

I believe you mean Jerome "King" Solomon. I was like...since when did Jerome James start writing.

There's no way they offer that and Phoenix doesn't bite, you're practically handing them over half of a starting lineup. They probably offered Rafer and Artest and offered to take back Nash and another contract. I dont think they would hand over brooks, maybe if tmac was healthy, but not the way the team is now.

would've been a great short term solution. of course the suns wouldn't trade him though.

i'm happy with the youth movement.

The fans in Phoenix would have burned strung Kerr up by the balls if he had done that trade. They are so sick of him trading away their run-and-gun style players. They want their old suns back and are rabid about it - hence why porter got fired.

Landry & Artest would have fit on the suns about as well as Trader_Jorge would fit in at a Snoop Dogg concert.
