Wondering about the logic of not playing him now...is it keeping him under wraps in hopes of fooling someone into trading for him? I'd like to see him on the court, myself, and lets see what he can and can't do. If he really can't cut it, then cut him and move on...but if he shows possibilites, then let's try to develop those. Keeping him at the end of the bench and getting him almost no time just does not make sense to me.
You can watch all the D League games for free on the Internet on the D League web site, including old games.
The funniest of it all is he self-named himself "Hasheem the Dream" on twitter. The true legends of the sport are given nicknames by the fans..Hasheem on the other hand came up with the name himself at the expense of the real legend Hakeem. I still want the guy to be played though..instead of rotting in the bench.
Thabust just doesn't have the drive, the determination. I wanted Thabust to be a solid player, but you just cannot rely on potential...
Didn't want to start a new thread on this guys... The last few games, where the Rockets were actually ahead by enough at the end that McHale cleared the bench, meant we got to see Thabeet out on the floor a few times, for a couple of minutes at least. Even after all this time of having him on the team, I had never actually seen the guy play.. ..and we still haven't. And I don't mean that in a good way. When I watched him at the end of those games, I was stunned. I have never EVER seen a more painfully slow, lumbering, awkward gait than this guy. Just trying to run up and down the floor looks like a supreme challenge for him. Is anyone else noticing this? He sure as HECK does not look like he's 7-foot-whatever. His body shape is all wrong.. on the tv screen, it looks like he has this kind of long-ish body and some rather short stumpy legs and arms. In fact, the image which kept popping into my mind was the times I have seen a dwarf run (little person? sorry, I don't know the politically correct term these day), or when I would see some slightly-developmentally-challenged children trying to run.. very awkward, kind of waddling, elbows tucked into the sides, sort of leaning forward, head down, laboring.. Maybe I am not seeing correctly. Maybe he has run with grace and speed, and maybe he was just tired or stiff from sitting so much, or something. But I cannot see how having this guy on the team benefits the team at ALL, not even as a practice body. I can't imagine anyone else in the league will give up anything for him at all, not even as a piece in a Kaman deal. What about you guys? Am I just imagining things here, or have you all noticed this too? Man, if Morey manages to procure something useful for this guy, anything at ALL, then I will be truly genuinely forever amazed at our GM's godlike jedi mind powers.
He'd make a nice backup for D.Howard in New Jersey...plus D-Howard could master his post moves in practice.... Great crash test dummy material
