Worth the try..2-6 record. They need a 7 footer badly. Move Hill as PF. and Dalembert starting center while Hasheem the Dream as backup. Jim Calhoun called Thabeet “one of the most dominant players in the history of college basketball,” " Has impeccable timing and athleticism for someone 7-foot-3 … Is extremely mobile for someone his size. Often beats guards down the court … Jumpshot improved considerably in his three years at UConn. " Has a good nose for the ball on the boards … Tremendous lateral quickness for a player his size. Can guard smaller players out to the 3-point line … Is a bit stronger than he appears. Overall, Thabeet has a scary combination of size and athleticism that doesn’t come along often … Upside is tremendous.
That was the confident Hasheem, we got the shell of a man. But hell, why not...this team is going nowhere...roll him out there. DD
I think we should've sent him down to the D-league so he could work on the moves that McHale was teaching him during the preseason.
I wonder what the limiting factor for him is. It's not like he doesn't have the size to be effective in the NBA level. Where did all the mobility and defensive dominance go? Isn't it funny how the teams that let go of their top picks like Thabeet and Flynn, their GMs always say that they reluctantly trade them, then they never pan out.
Just out of curiosity, where have you been since Hasheem has became a pro? He hasn't progressed at all. He's actually regressed. You'll get more results if you unleash him at The Gallerias front door.
He's 7'3..use his as a utility player. he's not as bad as he seems. ANd it's not easy to roll a 7'3 human being out the door..it would be literally impossible.
Thabeet is a big man that plays like a creampuff. please do us all a favor, and never put, Thabeet and Dream in the same sentence. Thank You on behalf of all Houston basketball fans(and not just the Rockets fans)
Well, the Rockets have 12 feet wide gates that the buses drive through.. we can roll him out of that part!!
I don't know if it's a confidence thing, or if he really is content with just "making it" to the NBA, but he is the exact opposite of what he was in college. Perhaps the whole defensive 3 seconds rule is a major buzzkill to him.
Where is all this athleticism i read about? The running up and down the court? He looks so slow and lazy out there.
D-League him, see if he can make some noise and get some confidence back, if he does bring him back, if not..... Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
He should be given a chance to play 20-30 minutes in the NBA. There are only 2 results anyway..win and lose...and the rockets have been in the losing bracket the majority of the time. They should just play Hasheem in games where chances are against them; like against great teams. What's the worst thing that could happen that hasn't alraedy happened? They register another loss? Hasheem makes a fool of himself? Practice and the real match are completely different. Hasheem might be able to perform in rael games more than in practice. Who knows.
