Would make sense for both teams and I like the potential of Turner and Brackins. Nocioni also a good option at SF.
I love this deal if we could get it for so many reasons. Evan Turner has the skills to be a star. Just hasn't had the opportunity quite yet. We get rid of Martin. With Turner, we can move Lee now or let him walk if the price gets too high. The combination of moving Martin's salary, being able to let Nocioni and Brackins walk (both team options), and even letting Lee walk opens a TON of capspace.
Way off, Turner has a crappy jumpshot and really struggles scoring consistently. Don't believe Amel on this one. Dude is 24% from downtown this year and 28.8% for his career, his midrange game is bad, too. He has good athleticsm but sometimes seems to lack lateral speed. Just averages 2.6apg, 0.5spg on 23.6mpg.
I never really liked the idea of trading Kevin Martin for Iggy, because I feel like they compliment each other's game so well. I wouldn't be thrilled about that potential trade, but I wouldn't hate it either. Philly would be even better with Martin and Iggy together.
Evan Turner has a similar game to Brandon Roy but he can't knock down mid range jump shots. He is a great rebounding SG and plays hard. He can run the offense reasonably well. But he just can't knock down shots.
All those incoming players have team options for next season so if we choose to not bring them back we could cut our 2012 salary by $11 million.
just not even close to true. Turner is shooting 40% from the field and I believe like 24% from 3pt range. He's a SF, not a SG. He's so good that Collins refuses to play him quality minutes and the 6ers are trying to trade their former #2 pick after just two years. Granted that it would be nice to see what he can do playing 30 minutes a night at the 3 position. I want to trade Martin as much as the next guy, but i want something of quality in return; not just the false hope of another draft bust.
That's like saying Alston and Telfair are similar to Iverson, they just couldn't shoot. Brandon Roy was one of the best shooters, so why compare him to a 25% 3pt shooter who also can't knock down midrange jumpers?
Wow, that would be a steal! Kevin Martin and Jordan Hill for a #2 overall pick, pretty good 3rd year big man (with range), and salary dump (that would love to play with Scola)? Where do I sign?????!!!!
Evan Turner, Nocioni, and Brackins....all have expiring contracts. I can see us making this deal for the ultimate cap flexibility going into the offseason. That being said, if we don't get Dwight or Deron Williams...what is the point of so much cap room and no young talent?
He's a below the rim brandon roy, which isn't great...but has better court vision....makes sense though, given our ongoing search for a star. Possibly Channing Frye 2.0
Speaking of rumors, Evan Turner apparently has some sort of mystery reason why he hasn't progressed right now and the Sixers can't reveal it or haven't revealed it yet... if this reporter is to be believed. http://philadelphia.cbslocal.com/2012/03/07/evan-turners-mystery-problem/ 9:23 mark <span style='text-align:left;display:block;'><p><object type='application/x-shockwave-flash' data='http://s0.wp.com/wp-content/plugins/audio-player/player.swf?m=1305259330g' width='290' height='24' id='audioplayer1'><param name='movie' value='http://s0.wp.com/wp-content/plugins/audio-player/player.swf?m=1305259330g' /><param name='FlashVars' value='&bg=0xf8f8f8&leftbg=0xeeeeee&lefticon=0x666666&rightbg=0xcccccc&rightbghover=0x999999&righticon=0x666666&righticonhover=0xffffff&text=0x666666&slider=0x666666&track=0xFFFFFF&border=0x666666&loader=0x9FFFB8&soundFile=http://nyc.podcast.play.it/media/d0/d0/d1/d0/d0/dM/dR/100MR_3.MP3' /><param name='quality' value='high' /><param name='menu' value='false' /><param name='bgcolor' value='#FFFFFF' /><param name='wmode' value='opaque' /></object></p></span>
