Everyone needs to take their "Oh cool there's a mainstream show about superheroes!" goggles off and realize that this show has been a steaming pile of turd since season 1 ended. I'd be willing to accept the fact that the writers strike killed this show, and that helps somewhat to alleviate the blame (and my frustration). But there are really just too many levels of disbelief that you have to suspend to take this show seriously in any way. They've written themselves into so many corners that the show is beyond repair. - Claire's healing is unreasonably powerful, so of course they introduce a second character with the SAME POWER (Adam) and now they claim that she is in fact IMMORTAL. Great. I can't imagine how that could ruin any plots. - Sylar should be unstoppable at this point. If there were any universe that existed in any kind of reality that would allow someone to obtain all of the abilities that Syler now possesses, that person would be completely unstoppable. And yet, time and time again, REGULAR humans and freak accidents and stupidity lead to his capture. All this mucking with his brain is clearly having an effect, because Sylar is the WORST villain of all time. Dr. Evil is more believable. If you stick with the world that they've created, there are only two ways imaginable to stop Sylar. Either find someone with more powers, or somehow stop time and cut off his head.... Oh wait... they could do that at any time if they wanted to, which brings me to... - Hiro has the most broken power of all time. Not only can he stop time, but he can also teleport and timetravel. Stopping time (or slowing it WAY down) is the perfect ability to stop any criminal forever. Just stop them, carry them to one of those cells, end of story. Teleportation and timetravel just make the job that much easier, especially since they've already "proven" that you can successfully change the timeline. Peter does it 3 times every episode. Absolutely ludicrous. They have to keep covering up how powerful Hiro is by making him an imbecile. - Peter is so ridiculous that Claire, Sylar, and Hiro combined I could almost live with. The fact that he instantaneously absorbs everyone else's powers and retains them forever without any repercussions is so outrageous that it literally takes any scrap of fun out of the show and grinds it to a fine powder. You have a self-healing immortal who has complete control over time and space, and by definition always has a proper superset of the powers of the most powerful villain. (who we've already proven to be a complete moron) Throw in a bunch of stupid side characters, the obvious 4400 promicen ripoff, so that now EVERYONE can get power, not to mention all of the contrived relationship "revelations", and you get one horrendous show. Thanks for nothing, writer's strike.
Darkhorse I understand . .. . but I want to see how they write out of this By and Large. . . stupidity of Heros and Villians alike is a hallmark of the genre In the REAL WORLD Smart villains with a high level of ruthlessness would be unstoppable with minor powers Sylar has to be stupid because he is so powerful - or they would make him have some kind of psychological problems some. . .fatal flaw Peter's character is just ridiculous . . . . [at least rogue needs physical contact] Rocket River i will see where it goes. . . .not much better on BTW I liked the 4400 Rocket River
When HRG was showing Claire the Level 5 villains from his file, Jesse's ability was listed as: Spoiler sound manipulation
From the Hero's Site Echo was sound manipulation maybe it is a duplicate power. . . like the future telling power everyone seems to have Rocket River
If we're assuming they'll rip off another Marvel character with Jessie's sound power, Klaw and Dazzler (converted sound into light/lasers) come to mind. I'll guess it's some sort of amplification/reflection of sound. Ultrasound! LOL Darkhorse - absolutely S2 bit in the worst way. I detested how they managed to go in every wrong direction possible. But I think they are serious about making amends. For example (casting change below) Spoiler Monica has been written out, which should mean that horrible New Orleans subplot is gone as well as the practice of s***ing out garbage newbies instead of building around the primary characters As to the realism/suspension of disbelief.....well, that's always something that comes with the territory of TV shows as well as the sci fi genre. I'm a science guy that works in imaging and biomedical research - lord knows I have to turn things off to watch shows like this and LOST. That doesn't strip away their entertainment value (unless they get REAL bad with it). I try to just sit back and enjoy the show. Huge masses worship the feet of 24, and that show has been all but absurd the last 2 or 3 seasons. Medical shows like House are inane (love how no one ever gets referred to a specialist), but that doesn't have to get in the way unless you let it. My point - the very foundation of this show, and many others, is based on fantasy - holding it up to realistic standards is always going to get in the way. I do agree that they've developed a bad habit of tripping over themselves with self-made contradictions within the show. That does irk me. Evan

Spoiler That's friggin' weak. We already had to go through her lame backstory. She's got a completely kick ass power and now we're not going to get to see it in any real action. b**** should train real hard and then actually do something for once. What a waste.
Spoiler The problem was the Writers had NO IDEA IMO what to do with her and Their whole story was superweakened by the ridiculous hillbilly accents they all tried to have . . . . Rocket River
The girl that played Monica isn't unfortunate looking either. I would much rather see her character than Maya. (and she seems to be a better actress with the content she was given)
Jesse's power is Spoiler he can project concussive power through the use of his voice. According to USA Today . If you click on the photo gallery it lists a few villains and their powers.
I'm glad they wrote out Monica. They should have also had a scene where someone blows up that stupid little kid (Micah's cousin), who keeps stealing things and saying dumb ****. Also last season I was hoping Hiro would eventually become the future Hiro who isn't a complete r****d and speaks normally. I can't stand his voice and his dumb ass "flying man" scream he does every time he sees Nathan. Of all the powers he has seen, flying seems to be the only power that makes him wet. Mohinder's storyline just got better, I never really liked any scenes with him. I hope he becomes some badass looking monster. Although he might have just caught some nasty STD from Maya, and that's why his back skin was crusting and peeling off. Can't wait for a threesome scene between Maya, Nikki and Claire. If we are lucky a foursome with Kristin Bell's character (can't remember her name) thrown in.
The ep was pretty good for the most part, but my one gripe was the adrenal glands? Spoiler What the hell? Are the writers serious? Superpowers come from your adrenal glands? I know I know, suspension of belief, but the adrenal glands? That's like saying superpowers come from the thyroid gland, lol.
The most fascinating thing about this show is Sylar. He starts out as a homicidal maniac and has slowly become the one consistently interesting character. Spoiler 1. Hiro has become increasingly annoying. Without his powers (as shown on tonight's episode), he's literally nothing. Even Ando is more resourceful than Hiro is 2. I KNEW they would turn that whole Nikki/Tracy thing into a "cloning" storyline somehow. Test tube babies being made to have different powers all in one hot body 3. The Matt Parkman storyline is, IMO, turning into another NOLA piece--useless.
This episode was sorta...random Spoiler Is Claire turning into a villain? All signs seem to point to yes, but you never know with this show. Prime example is Sylar, guess he's not the uber villain everyone thought/wanted him to be...at this point. I am pretty sure the only reason Maya is still on the cast is to give Mohinder a reason to make the formula that gives powers, she should be killed now since her purpose has been completed. I needed to see the villains do more rampage, that was sorta weak, rob a bank for 1 episode, get caught. The black dude escaped though so maybe we'll see.
His story line is an ode to an old movie: <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/k2c0dKzMWLE&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/k2c0dKzMWLE&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> Mohinder is very similar to Jeff's character. just watch.
