That basketball reference still doesn't beat when we talked about drafting Jesus as our 4. Steve Francis Tmac Battier Jesus Yao I really like what they're doing with the Sylar character. I'm not completely convinced who's good and evil in this bout, or if it's really even that clear. NBC did fire two of the writers for Heroes because they didn't like the direction it was going in, so who knows? I also love the fact that Peter isn't being a little b!tch anymore, seriously, he was getting on my nerves. He's so easily turned. My question is, are Peter's powers gone, or did Papa Petrelli just scar his brain tissue so he can't use them. And, If Claire is special, and Sylar stole her powers, doesn't that make Sylar special too? I mean, doesn't Sylar say something to that sentiment in the first episode?
so what was Arthur doing to Hiro to make him think he's 10... was he taking his powers or destroying brain tissue? couldn't have been taking his powers because he's still able to stop time and what not.. if Hiro's got scar tissues then how can he get better? wasn't it Lindeman (sp) who cured Mrs. Petrelli of the scar tissues?
It seems that there is going to be more to Arthur than him simply being a one-dimensional 'Evil Guy'. He doesn't seem to kill needlessly, but he does kill if provoked, or out of necessity, without hesitation. Also, our Spirit-Walker dude was still guiding Parkman to Mrs. Petrelli long after his head had become unfortunately disengaged from his body, so we probably have not seen the last of him either.
Is it possible at all to jump into the show this late in the game?I would rather not spend days watching the DVD's of the previous episodes.
I'm assuming you haven't seen a single episode yet. I highly recommend you watch the first season. You'll breeze right through it. There's really not much to see on the second season, except for maybe an episode or two. This current season is turning out to be very enjoyable thus far.
For more on ELLE and SYLAR Read the Graphic Novels. Which IMO kind of *****s up continuity a bit but basically Spoiler Elle and HRG went out to find Sylar. . .they needed to see how his powers worked Elle basically manipulated Sylar into thinking she liked him and that he was special etc. . [she never lets him know she has powers] . .she and HRG arrange to have another Super show up for a intimate dinner between Elle and Sylar. Sylar felt betrayed but tries to put up a good front until something set him off . . . He basically then starts cutting the guy's head to get his power .. Elle runs out and HRG is watching it on screen and is fascinated. that is where it ends Rocket River
so if I commit to watching the first season I can jump right in after some wiki reading? I think I can do that.
For sure watch the First season. I liked the second season alot also. I would watch them all, they are very worth it. You wont get as much "Depth" if you dont watch season 2.
After watching season 1, I doubt you are going to be able to keep yourself from watching Season 2.... though after the first few shows in you'll figure it out, it moves like a snail...
Okay got it,thanks dude. It seems that the power of petrelli family is way more stronger than anyone here.I've had crush on Peter's empathy power since the first time I watched Heroes. It's really crazy to absorb others' abilities and make 'em become part of his life. Hope he would get his power back because Clair is the catalyst to that formula.
I won't lie, I thought the episode was fairly lame. The Sylar stuff (killer-->suzie sunshine) still erks me, since I like to have at least a bare minimum in character writing and development. Unfortunately, they continue to show only a Lucas-level talent for that. "I hate you! I love you!" Ugh. Seems certain she'll be his baby momma though. Also happy we're not axing one of my favorite hotties on the show. I'm wondering if the Haitian can restore Hiro. I also wonder how Pops Petrelli got that mind-wipe power. I'm guessing that ultimately, Sylar will pull a Vader on Pop's Emperor. I'm also guessing that he won't be on either team when the dust settles. Evan
I did, too. The writing is still as crappy as it was in season 2. Elle goes from hating Sylar to liking him in like an hour. Daphne goes from meeting Parkman to loving him in like a day. Oooookay. Because that's surely how normal people act. Every episode, this show keeps moving further and further away from its central premise of "normal, everyday people with extraordinary abilities finding their place in today's world."
Exactly - if your aim is to go for a realistic style spin on sci fi, being able to write realistic, believable characters has to be job #1. It's why LOST still owns. I still enjoy watching this show, but the way they yank a character from one personality to another is a trainwreck. The Claire-West romance from last year is another example. It's my understanding that NBC kicked over a lot of desks in the Heroes production office and all but cleaned house with the writers and producers, bringing in fresh blood and chaining Tim Kring to the show to fix things. Bad news is, changes won't be apparent until the last month of the spring season. Evan
Daphne...if I didn't find her character likeable, I'd be really annoyed at that whole storyline. As far as Elle goes...I can believe it. Sometimes it's easy to forget behind her cuteness that her character is a complete sociopath. While her crazy seems toned down this season, she's always been a character with heavy issues, especially regarding her parents. So when Sylar BSed about his mommy issues, that crazy chick melted like butter.
Elle spent her ENTIRE life desperately trying to measure up to her dad's expectations. That was the single motivating factor in everything she did. Her dad was her focus, her rock, her obsession. And Sylar stripped all of that away in an instant, taking her whole world with him. Sylar forever robbed Elle the opportunity to do the one thing she wanted most: to make her dad proud of her. ... And yet, I'm supposed to believe that Elle will forget about what Sylar did and fall madly in love with him after an hour of electric shock "therapy"? Puh-leaze. There are no consequences to anything anyone does on this show, and it's getting a little tiresome.
