So, Adam is gone, Ando is back, Hiro is annoying, Fear dude is more annoying, Parkman got rejected, Peter lost his powers, Mohinder has a frozen arm, and Claire is still fine? Did I miss anything? Seems to be getting more and more "out there"...which is not a good thing IMHO...
I think you are just looking for reasons not to like the show. The last episode was VERY well done. Hiro is not annoying in anyone's mind except yours. There was a point to his storyline. Stop relying on only your powers, use your brain as well. The only thing I agree with in your 'analysis' is that Fear dude is annoying.
Anyone see the article talking about "Heroes" ratings are down by 2.2 million viewers from 11.6 to 9.4 million? I think the mantra is changing from "save the world" to "save the show". http://www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,20235213,00.html?cnn=yes
Future Sylar was somehow able to prevent Peter from taking his intuitive ability. So maybe Peter's dad wasn't able to absorb that power and if that's the case, maybe Peter uses that intuitive ability to learn how to gain back his old power.
Does no one remember that Papa Petrelli never had powers to begin with? I remember reading the comics and Petrelli met Linderman in the war. Linderman had powers and papa petrelli didn't. I still have a lot of comics to read but most of them seem to have nothing to do with the plot of the story.
Yeah that was the case, but remember at the end Linderman came back to Petrelli and told him he wanted to team up. That was still pretty far in the past. And we now know that at some point they found a way to give abilities. I would think Petrelli would be one of the first test subjects.
That's what I'm guessing but they made it sound as if Arthur was disappointed that Nathan didn't have the DNA code like Peter and Gabriel. Why would he be disappointed that Nathan didn't have powers if he knew he could easily give it to him. I'm thinking the writers are just forgetting about some of the comic storylines and going in a new direction. They will probably never explain it. I like the show but the continuity is hurting the show a bit. If i didn't remember some of the small details from the comics I probably woudn't even be bothered by it.
Papa Petrelli didn't have abilities in the comic, but that doesn't mean he didn't get them naturally. Look at how old Hiro, Parkman and Sylar were before they experienced their abilities. It's entirely possible that Arthur Petrelli didn't get his ability until later in life.
Ahhh 2 weeks til the explain all episode like they had in the first season. Overall I really liked this episode, good advancements of the story along with surprising twists so I think its back up to its old high standards.
Great episode. I had my doubts at the start of this season, but they're working it out ok. My only complaint is all the women are blondes. I know that might not be a popular sentiment, but its not my preference. We need some burnettes and maybe a redhead. Then they got rid of the hottest chick on there. Other than that though, good stuff. I actually hope Sylar works out as a good guy.
At first I was thinking man Gabe turned back into Syler that fast? What a flip flop but then Peter survived the fall. Hmmm...I sure hope it WAS Gabe that helped Peter like he suspected. Now there is a double double agent story with Gabe and Daphne .
The show has really picked it up, they've gotten back to what made Season 1 such a success, though Pappa Petrelli is now way too powerful, don't see how he can be stopped without the Haitian............ it's going to be the two corporations against each other now....
Sylar is going to have to be the one to take dearest Daddy down. I don't know if any of you twitter, but Greg Grunberg said last night that the rest of the season is really really good. He said that they just get better from here on out. There are flaws, but overall I have been very entertained by this season. I loved the interaction between Elle and Claire. I loved the illusion that Parkman made, and the fact that they knew he would do it, and the fact that she is still being controlled by Petrelli Spoiler we find out in the next two weeks why she got involved with them in the first place Should be a fun last few weeks to end this volume.
The show goes up against MNF (dumb), was off for longer than most strike-affected shows (no mini-spring season in late Apr/May)...and is still NBC's top rated show. There's no way they cancel it. Maybe it only goes 5 seasons, but it's not getting the Arrested Development axe. Evan
Well, they've clearly moved to chopping down the characters to a core 10 (Claire, Peter, Hiro, Ando, Noah, Nathan, Sylar, Matt, Suresh, Nikki/Tracy) plus some permanent minors (moms Petrelli and Bennett) and "paid by the episode" secondaries: blue flame villain, fear boy, African spirit walker, etc. It looks like they've written out a LOT of characters, but sometimes with an option to bring them back occasionally (Rena Sofer, Adam, Linderman, Sulu, Kristen Bell, Haitian, Micah, Molly, West, etc). Savvy way of keeping the cast budget under control. We'll probably see a bunch of these "retainer" cast members pop up in the flashback episode. And yes, Rena Sofer is gorgeous. As far as the episode last night, I liked it - the show is settling into a decent groove. You do have to let go and not study it like you would LOST, but it plays out well for what it's going for. Even the trademark repairing of castmates (with the exception of Hiro/Ando) has grown on me. I definitely like Sylar more as they had him this episode. A villain developing into an antihero with questionable allegiances is much more palatable than a dark killer "flipping" into Mary Sunshine in the span of a week. I very much dug the Star Wars vibe they went with, including the graphic match of flinging Peter out of the window (Empire Strikes Back). Tipped the reader a bit too much with the double "I wonder if Sylar controlled the fall" lines. Disappointing, but I knew they weren't really going to let Suresh become a killer with his victims. It's a point of no return move, and they want to be able to swing the characters back and forth. But great consolation in Maya being written out anyway! Thanks guys! Nathan's going to get his ass.whupped. if he tries to take on daddy on his own. What's he even thinking? Peter, one of the two uber-powerful guys around, had to run with his tail between his legs, and Nathan's flying is going to allow him to take on a guy that absorbed all of Peter's abilities? Really? That's like me saying I'll kick the door down on the Houston Texans. A shame that Kristen Bell won't be long for this world. Sort of silly having her run inside with no regard for Peter being tossed out of the 7th floor like that. Evan
They wrote her off. After the Peter "exploded" at the end of season 1, Nathan became a drunk over guilt for Peter's "death" and Heidi (Rena) took the kids and left him.
i haven't watched any episodes of this season. is it worth catching up? i haven't read any of the posts b/c i don't want to be spoiled. so i have no idea what the reaction has been.
