I hate checkpoints with enemies near. Depending on how hard the mission was to that point it isn't a bad idea. I had the advantage of having beat the game in Co-op first, so at least I knew to always track backwards to find Ammo I had passed.
Well I just played it. and it's awesome. Although I spent 3 hours playing on legendary to get 0 pts , and spent 30 minutes on regular before I switched the difficulty and got 1000+ pts. Still fun though. Anyone is welcome to join me on co-op campaign
That achievement reminds me of one of my finest achievements in Halo 2. I was terrorizing everybody in Blood Gultch using the Banshee. After a solid 15 minute rampage in the skies, someone managed to commandeer the Banshee from the other base, and since my ship was riddled with holes by then, he was able to shoot me down... but before he did, I somersaulted directly over him and ejected from the Banshee, I held "X" as hard as I could on the way down, and managed to throw him out of his Banshee and then kill him with it before he hit the ground. It was like something out of a freaking Stallone movie.
Here's the video I watched that told me holding LB is why I didn't get it. I was getting very pissed. <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/cqGxNhmJS7Q?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/cqGxNhmJS7Q?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>
^ thanks. I"ll try it when i'm done with my test later on. I hate to say it but i go three red rings last night and i'm not to happy about it right now
I tried recording some gameplay using my iphone...didnt come out quite as nice as I thought. Anyways, went 17-1 in the game, mostly using the shotgun. <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/hdTfCRYV4Es?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/hdTfCRYV4Es?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>
I did not realize how short the campaign was. I really has not played it until yesterday. Me and a buddy played the campaign on co-op on legendary. We finished half the game in just under 4 hours.
"Halo: Out With a Whimper is a FREE 2D side-scrolling PC fan made indie game and currently under development." <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/TneT9y0za4I?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/TneT9y0za4I?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object> It looks pretty cool, here is the demo link for the game: http://www.indiedb.com/games/haloowaw/downloads/halo-out-with-a-whimper-demo The release date for the full game still hasn't been announced yet.
I don't get how people say the campaign is short? I'm playing on legendary solo, and I'm 14 hrs in and still have the last 2 levels left. Does no one like to explore any of the levels or do they just move forward and blast through everything asap? There is also so much strategy required on legendary, and it so fun and rewarding to defeat the AI in this game. Just may be the best AI I've ever experienced in any game!
I read that they designed the difficulty to increase as more players were added. It is supposed to be of equal difficulty regardless of how many people are playing in the campaign.
It is going to take longer for some than it is for others. It does take a lot of strategy. Halo's main attraction has been the multiplayer, so I think they don't worry about having a campaign that is extraordinarily long because they don't need that to hold your interest over a long period of time.
Meh, we did that on Starlancer back in 1999... Even opened up new branches of story based upon how many people played cooperatively. No one played it....together..lol. DD
Is anyone else in my situation?: I actually enjoy the single player and co-op more compared to LIVE. Aside from firefight, my online experience consists of me getting my ass killed repreatedly to the point where I hinder my team and it's not fun. The minute I go out of the base, I'm killed by someone I don't even see from across the map. I don't think I'm terrible, in fact I feel like I play too much if anything when I should be reading or doing something productive. I waited to save my LIVE gold card until this game came out. I'm "only" a grade 2 sergeant, which was lower than everyone else who I think have been playing constantly since whenever the first online multiplayer one came out. The part that annoys me most is I play online to hang out with old friends but I find myself keeping the headset audio out off. Instead of reminiscing or even talking advice or tactics, I get to listen to a bunch of strangers making noises and having the most menial conversations, if you can call them that.
The game isnt about teamwork anymore and u gotta be selfish if u wanna get a good rating. So... Screw Call outs Dont Team Shot Let your teammate die and finish of the kill Camp or time the power weapons Ive done this the last 2 days and get no rating lower than a 1500
