There is a radar in Halo, I doubt you can "sneak" around the map. You also cannot jack a vehicle going at full speed, no one just sits still in the vehicle. And the reality argument is a great one, especially in a game where a large portion of the vehicles consist of flying alien spacecrafts that shoot lasers. beams.
I was thinking the same thing lol. Let's make a realism argument for a game in which you wear incredible body armor that takes an entire clip of an assualt rifle to penetrate, where you can jump extra high and shoot and chuck grenades at people, where you have "needlers" where your enemies are ultra advanced aliens named after an English word...
Really? I didn't know that...was wondering what those dots in the corner of the screen meant. I'm not saying I don't get frustrated when people do nothing but use a vehicle. But I don't go crying a river about it, I figure out a way to take them down.... like has been said already, and it's something I've heard time and again since Halo's inception, the developers have gone to great lengths to making the game balanced. So somebody takes a Scorpion, steal it right back (that's possible even if it's moving at top speed). Someone in a banshee? Use a rocket. Warthog got ya down? Toss some grenades. And I already said they are two completely different things... my point was soldiers in real combat don't have a choice in facing an enemy with armored vehicles; but they do have options to incapacitate them. Same holds for a game with super soldiers, bubble shields, plasma weapons and cloaked aliens...any idiot in a vehicle is still an idiot...you can figure out a way to take them out without losing a lot of lives. And if you're an elite player in a competitive arena, and you can't do that, then maybe you're not an elite player.
I just finished one of the (assuming there's more) space combat levels. a) it was awesome b) the game is maddeningly frustrating at times on legendary (solo). c) first game I've played that's been able to draw even a slight emotional response from me (other than fable 2). Overall I can't say enough good things about this game. The music is awesome as always.
Hardest Halo achievement ever not based on ranked slayer. Took me a ton of tries. It kept making me mad because I kept assassinating the Elite, but it wasn't doing an assassination move. And once it did it and apparently I didn't get it because I was holding LB. Also finished the game individually on Legendary. Ammo was at premium in the last mission.
i can't wait for microsoft to fix my xbox so i can play the game btw, microsoft sucks 3 rings of death = free fix within three years 2 rings of death = microsoft hanging up the phone on you several times and you being stuck with a $100 tab as an aside, when my psp had software issues, sony happily (but slowly) fixed it for free yay sony, nay microsoft
studdog, You should have just told them you had the 3 rings and sent it in, they don't even test it... DD
I thought about doing this but wasn't sure and didn't really want to be deceptive to get what I wanted.
Microsoft does indeed suck major balls. I just got mine fixed, but from someone I know. I also got my fan replaced so it doesnt overheat from a 5 whatever the unit thingy is to a 12. I have purchased this game. Can't wait to play it.
On what difficulty? Because different difficulties add plenty of hours to campaign time. I have never played a Halo campaign in my life and I am having a fairly difficult time on legendary. I have no idea how long this campaign is, but campaigns can be too long sometimes and get tiresome like Red Dead Redemption. But a game like Assassin's Creed 2 was extremely long and never lost my interest.
I don't think you should have to play on legendary to get 20+ hours of campaign gameplay. Most are only around 7 hours on regular difficulty. DD
I'd say Legendary Solo took around 12 hours. Lack of ammo made it take so much longer than it should of. When I play Co-op I can get myself killed to end up with a pistol or DMR again. The keys to finishing are: Plasma Pistol is your greatest friend when it comes to Elites DMR/Pistol for Jackels/Grunts/Brutes and final shot on Elites Save heavy weapons(Rockets/Fuel Rod Cannons/Plasma Launchers) for Hunters/Vehicles. I really wish they would let you carry 3 weapons at a time like GOW. I started constantly alternating picking up and dropping two weapons so I could basically be carrying 3 weapons. It got real annoying when I tried to carry my DMR/Rockets/Sniper/Laser all at the same time.
That is my biggest problem, running out of ammo. I am at a terrible spawn point right now where I am near a bunch of enemies with no ammo left. I'm not sure what to do. I might have to restart the mission.
Three friends and I have been playing Firefight the last couple of nights...love it, though the game doesn't seem to really give many 'credits' in this mode. Anyone else noticed this?
