talk about overreacting, iverson just had a sick game plain and simple. clearly we should have got this one, but i'm not gonna blame this on mooch, rudy or any individual. it all comes down to free throws, thats it, we make 65% of them and we win. for most of this game we played pretty smooth especially for this system. we make one more free throw, and nobody's b****in.

also whoever said this clearly shows that iverson is in another league than Francis needs to cool down. the man had a career night, his best ever, do you think he averages 58 points? on top of that francis was very sloppy tonight, not his best showing. so how can you compare 2 players one on a superhuman night and one on an average night. francis isnt going to get 58 points, but iverson isn't going to flirt with a triple double practically every game.

one more thing, iverson whines even more then mobley, the thing is iverson gets away with everything and gets lots of help from the refs, so it's like how much does he want? if steve could get half the whistles iverson gets, he'd easily average 5 or 6 more points.

Poor Jeff, the current Rockets team has succeeded in doing what years of Allen Leavell could never do. They finally broke his spirit. :(

Yeah, while it sucks to see them lose, for 2 and a half quarters there, that was absolutely beautiful basketball to watch! They passed the ball, guys hit their shots, and no one played selfishly. If Iverson had not gone absolutely unconcious there towards the end, we win this game (or if we hit our FTs, which we usually do). The fact is, this is not like we are seeing bad basketball for 48 minutes every game night. For more than the majority of the game, the Rockets tend to click, and images of championships go dancing through my head. But then those last 7-10 minutes or so of just about every game are absolute torture....and they don't have to be. Urge to kill....RISING.

If the Rockets did not have these seasons where the bile rises to the tip of your throat. If they didn't have bitter losses that make you want to swear off basketball for life. If they didn't make you scream and yell at every single little stupid mistake and brainfart, then those eventual championships would not be as sweet.

And as we all know here, they truly are oh so sweet.

Patience.

I'm quite sure every fan on this board love the Rockets. Even though they're playing like crap I'm going to continue to watch them no matter what. A lot of fans are pissed off because the Rockets continually makes the same bone head mistakes in the fouth quarter. At least try something different for a change. What's the old saying "If you do the same things you will get the same results" The thing what makes it so bad is the fact that Rudy the coach is watching his players make these mental mistakes and he is not correcting them.

Exactly. It all comes down to fundamentals and concentration (like Calvin said on the telecast). This game proves to me that we have a lot of maturing to do, and we are still well out of arms reach of a playoff spot.

Exactly. I just got through watching this game on tape and I can't stand it when they start going to the iso play down the stretch and start dribbling and dribbling the ball and either turn the ball over or throw up a wild shot. The Rockets are at their best when they are moving the ball, any team is. I'm really sick of watching this type of basketball, it's a pain. It was good to see EG have another good game. It's pretty funny but at 19 years old and being the youngest Rocket by far, I think he plays with the coolest head out there of anybody else on the team, and he's still coming of the freakin bench.

If I were Les Alexander, I would give Rudy one more year to get it right and get this team to another level and into the playoffs. Looks like they are not going to make it again this year and if they miss the playoffs next year as well, Rudy has to go. No coach should keep his job if their team fails to make the playoffs four straight years.

Hey you can never give up on your team!!!!!

Man I had season tickets the year the Oilers went 2-14 and I went to 6 of their 8 home games and the only reason I didn't go to the other two was because I mixed up the times. Primetime and Bigboymumu can vouch for me on that.

NEVER give up on your team, regardless of who or what they are or how poorly they are doing, because when they start to win and people are jumping on the bandwagon, its at that point that it happens..... It starts with goosebumps, then your eyes get a little watery, and your nose feels like its about to start running, and for some ****ing reason you can't stop nodding as if someone is talking to you...... yes the feeling of acomplishment that only a TRUE FAN feels is PRICELESS gentlemen.

So take pride in your team no matter what difficulties they may face because when they actually accomplish something it is you who they thank and not that piece of **** that gave up on the team 5 years ago and only bought a hat because they started to win again..... Sorry, just taking out some frustrations.
:) :)

Go Rockets!!! Dominant center here we come lotto 2002!!!! Woohoo!!

I know exactly how you feel, Jeff. I bought the League Pass, and I feel like I wasted my money. Granted, I have been slammed at work, but even then I would always care about how the Rockets did and would have taped the games. Now, I'm like, "Did the Rockets play last night? Oh, they lost to the Sixers because Iverson had 58? Figures."

I know that it sounds like I have given up on the season, but it is depressing to keep up with something like the Rockets knowing that the record is not a true indication of this team. I'm sick and tired of this team losing games like this. They did it twice to the Pacers, losing in OT to the Lakers, etc.

Maybe next season, I don't buy League Pass & the Rockets will probably do much better.

BTW - How in the hell does one player get to shoot the ball 42 times in a freaking game? I don't think that I could shoot the ball that many times if I was the only one in the gym.

Scarface: More details please? Let me get this straight: you missed a whole football game at the Astrodome "because (you) mixed up the times." There has to be more to that story!

Yeah, cause for that to happen we'd have to have the best player in the game. :D

As frustrating as it is, I still have hope for better things to come! It only takes one good streak of games to get back in it. Playoffs here we come!

Its too early to give up Jeff. Even though it doesn't look good, I don't want a tank job. I think by the All star break if we're not 5 or 6 games under .500, we need to start looking at Morris and Langhi at the 3 to see if we need to make a move for a 3. We also need to look at Collier to see if he's any kind of NBA player. Walt at the 3 is doing this team no good, Thomas taking minutes from Griffin isn't either. I think Francis will wait till after next yr and decide to resign like duncan did. It doesn't look good. I thought a good road trip would be 2-2, they way its started, we might not win a game.

From what I've seen, most(if not all) of the people who post on this website love this team. Everyone goes through the ups and downs of a season with their team.
I'm almost everyone has at one time or another said something like "That's it I'm sick of this, I'm not watching anymore of this game or season." For crying out loud they even have it on the Rockets (Reliant Energy) Commercial where the fan turns the t.v. off after getting disgusted. But then like every fan who loves this team, the guy in the commercial comes back to watch the rest of the game and season.
I'm sure Jeff will be watching the rest of the season just like everyone else on here. Everyone is disgusted of losing games that they should win. I've lived in this city since 2nd grade and have been a fan since Ralph Sampson's miracle shot in 86 and I finally for the first time could afford to get season tickets. Don't you think I'm disgusted by all the losing? But true fans, no matter what they say, always come back and cheer for the Rockets!

I feel your frustration Jeff...what a great game only to be ruined by a streak of one-on-one play at the end that couldnt get it done. The last play by Mooch was a total waste of 24 seconds...and the OT period was a joke. No team ball at all. Was I the only one sitting there thinking Eddie Griffin (the 19 yr old rookie) is the best player on our team? I mean he was huge in the end...this guy is gonna be great. I voted for Franchise in the favorite player poll...but I am coming around. I just love Griffins style. That turnaround jumper over the double team where he got fouled that he converted to a three point play at the end was a thing of beauty. What a complete package...shooting, shot blocking, hustle, and most of all a calm demeanor on the court. This guy is a real professional...not a showboat. Some of our "veterans" could learn a lot from him. With the game on the line...I aint all about watching a guard dribble between his legs and behind his back and juke and jive and run into the middle of the trees only to jack up a prayer in hopes of drawing a foul...especially since we cant shoot FT's in the clutch. We need a player who can score or pass to the open man...not a reject from the Harlem Globetrotters.

To me it looked like moochie was gonna try and take his man off the dribble and either shoot or pass to an open rocket. But he either waited too long to make his move, or just couldn't beat him of the dribble. I Would rather have Francis or Mobley do something like that then Moochie

Sorry for the outburst. I got settled down and I feel better. Fact is, a friend of mine died the other day and I was feeling pretty awful and thought the Rockets game would cheer me up. It didn't.

Anyway, no fairweather fan here. I'm still watching.
