Trump stopped Biden's study on drug costs because he's got a superior plan that he plans to roll out. Today's executive order HAS NO IMPACT ON DRUG COSTS. NONE. It paves the way for Trump's plan to lower prescription drug costs. Trump is focused on taking out the MIDDLEMAN, who often makes more than the drug companies themselves.

I think there's finger pointing between big pharna and PBMs like CVS and UHC as the source of the gouging. Somehow it's become a partisan thing where one party delects blame onto the side they've chosen. Not sure if Trump is resetting negotiating table, but he can symbolically flip EOs and let his public servants silently suffer and figure it out

It'll be fireworks if Trump curries favor with the Luigi Onlyfans crowd. Who knows wth he'll do as they're all big monopolies sucking the government and the public dry.

 

I'm saying if he was honest in shaking up an inherently corrupt and captured system, then pitting each industry against the other in order to offer the most "cost savings" would be one way to do it without getting the entire trillion dollar healthcare industry on your ass.

Price caps might be effective in the short term but it's like spraying febreeze after a sloppy wet fart with untold unintended consequences.

And even if Biden's policy did work, EOs are still bandages and Trump's pride and narrative wouldn't let him work on top of Joe's previous efforts.

 

To lower drug prices, Trump must first raise drug prices. I don't know some of you are being so obtuse.
