Hmmm, so why is Biden’s approval rating barely 40%? Why are the Dems about to get slaughtered in the midterms in a bloodbath never before seen? Why are the Dems losing Independents and minorities? Keep your head buried in the sand if u want to

when they do nothing these next 2 years, see how far an infrastructure bill will get them

thats how they won in 2020.

your "moving the goal posts" amounts to an admission that you're wrong when you made this convenient false claim

too bad I didn’t move anything…that little infrastructure bill y’all love to mention and that other stuff is basically irrelevant and has made no impact…if those were such heavy hitter platform points, Biden’s approval rating wouldn’t be pure trash and seemingly getting lower and lower by the week…so guess what, they will run on “we’re not Trump” because that’s the best option they have to actually get people to go out and vote, especially after they get destroyed in the midterms and aren’t able to do anything of substance the next 2 years

keep your head in the sand tho

The Democrats may be able to hold on the Senate and I hope they do. If the Supreme Court overrules Roe v Wade that may energize their base but still they have to get the message out there. They've made this way more difficult than it had to be. Hammer the **** out everything you've accomplished on all airwaves until the midterms are over.

Yes. Democrats have sucked at messaging for decades. They don't seem to have learned from their mistakes.

In a way, I think they are surprised each election cycle that the general populace aren't adroit policy wonks like they are.

They seem to consistently over-estimate people's grasp of political issues. Most folks don't care to study issues. They do look around for something simple to grasp onto and will ride that pony to the finish line no matter what.

It's why people believed that Gore claimed to have invented the internet. Gore never claimed that and anyone who did the shallowest digging realized it. But most people won't be bothered to do the shallowest of digging. And with media increasingly motivated by click-bait headlines, they aren't getting much help.

that’s exactly what they should do, but they won’t

Democrats never on the offensive…they either self-sabotage with slogans like “Defund the Police” or are on the defensive

I bet the vast majority of Americans don’t even know anything of substance about this almighty infrastructure bill…what they do know about is high gas prices, inflation, increasing crime, increase in mass shootings, etc, and the Democrats get hammered on that day after day

They should have all came out and stated we want to Reform the Police NOT defund them but they let a small minority of people hijack that message. Blast the airwaves with Pepperidge Farm remembers and just slam them with Boebert and MTG quotes until the majority realizes the GOP is a joke that stands for nothing unless you have hate in your heart for [enter race/sex/etc.]

True. They don't know about record low unemployment, rise in wages, increased illegal immigration enforcement, unifying of allies to help thwart Russia, etc.

The fact that one set of data around inflation etc. gets more pub than all of the other positive things and that Dems can't pass the blame for at least some of the bad crap is entirely because they suck at messaging. They fail to learn over and over.

Um... I know this is an uncomfortable question, but isn't that a good enough reason to vote for just about anyone else in the universe? Do you seriously intend to vote for trump?

We all saw how effective viral Lincoln Project twitter ads were. It didn't matter if half were stinkers, they just cranked them out whenever Trump took a dump...quantity into quality.

If it works, why not use it?

I suspect the emotional anger or gut punches those ads bring to viewers is slightly different for party. For cons, it's Rage for Your Country. Maybe Dem leadership thinks their messages in those campaigns would Rage against The Country (Establishment). Something they're wholly a part of.

So the messaging is off. Because they inherently fear the mob might think they are part of the problem when voters are roused up to do something about it.

It's all cynical, sloppy, and mediocre, imo. They can't go the fear/anger route Cons have been playing post-Bush, but they haven't figured out the aspirational route Obama suckered us in 08.

What else would a sentient voter need? Notice I wrote sentient, since republicans will vote for him anyway, but...

it’s pathetic when you’re getting votes not because you’re actually good, but because you’re not as terrible as the other guy…pretty damn sad

Yea... makes you wonder how terrible that other guy is? And makes you wonder why republicans are pushing out a candidate that has been impeached twice and has been trying to overturn the previous election?

Should we ignore the continuous calls for recession, currency collapses around the world and extreme shut downs in China? The future looks promising.

Very 2007ish. If im in my 20's and didnt own a home in the last two years, Im hurting bad.

same candidate Dems already lost to once

look, you’re not gonna convince me that voting for someone who isn’t actually good, but is just not as sh*tty as option #2 is a good thing
