I like the way he stood up to Jason Kidd after Kidd gave him a cheap shot. That right David, don't take s*** off of that woman beater
he's been getting better and better, and also more playing time, personally,i think he is a great bench centre,he can shoot threes, and can shoot the ball quite well for a center, but i dunno is it just me,cos i didnt notice him most of the time, but he seems to be getting quite alot of fouls
I think part of that is an adjustment to the NBA game. Scola had similar struggles early on. Look for him to get more minutes w/ landry on the shelf for a while.
Yep you could read his lips afterwards and he was saying stupid mother.. Anyways, aussie rocket played great tonight esp with Landry going down
Let's talk about Andersen some more. 10 pts 4 rbs tonight in 18 mins. Pretty reminiscent of Luis Scola's first year.
He seems to have found his comfort and confidence level right now, as well has his offensive rhythm. Plus, he's learning how to cut down on silly fouls, which allows him to stay on the court and be aggressive. The improvement is noticeable.
Absolutely, like Scola, Andersen has proven post skills, as well as a fantastic jumpshot that is improving each and every game, with range out to the 3 point field goal stripe. Like many other posters have mentioned previously, the adjustment period from Spanish league to NBA, is significant. However, Andersen is already looking to find his permanent niche in the Rocket's offense. To express my analysis in layman's terms, Andersen simply "gets it", and it is over the last few games that this has become conclusive.
Maybe I missed it but would like to know if aussie rocket has changed his mind on his fellow countryman. Andersen is looking more and more comfortable, I see him only improving. What has really impressed me is to be able to come in and contribute while not getting consitent minutes.
If Andersen could up his 3-point shooting% to the 40% range, that would be huge for the offense. He's getting so many open looks but more often than not his shot is short.
I think he will extend his range the more he practices on the NBA 3 points line. His jumper is a bit shaky at times too but I think both will improve. However, what I've been impressed with has been his ability to handle the rock either posting up or driving to the basket, he usually finishes well when he is doing either of those instead of just jump shooting. For a 7 footer he seems to have a nice control of the ball and doesn't get stripped much.
If he cracks the rotation, I just hope that Marc Stein will stop calling us the "gutty little Rockets."
I guess you are having the last laugh. Congrats on a good call, and I mean it. 3/4 of a season, showed that Andersen will have one game among 10 bad ones. I reckon you probably knew about that too.
can't wait til he's gone. one project morey and his crew didn't do enough homework on. you need to play defense in this league.
At this point I have to agree with you, AussieRocket. A player with so many defensive deficencies needs to make up for it with some crazy-mad offensive game, which he?s shown only for very brief stretches. I would be ok playing him for maaaaaybe 10 minutes a game if he could shoot closer to 50 percent with a better 3 point percentage. Unfortunately, the NBA 3 point line is just out of his range and he shoots way too many. It usually is short and clangs off the front of the rim. The guy has a few solid post moves and an effectve turnaround j but he?s softer than Charmin. I say give all of his minutes to Hill to see what we have there.
