Congratulations to him on a nice game. with 2 more rebounds i would have been extremely pleased. But it's a great start anyways. I insist i would love to see him more with Scola, his Fibaness should help Andersen a lot. And he could be another passing option for Scola on the post. Last night i saw a play where Scola made an pass off a double team to a open Hayes down the lane and he trid a reverse layup that didn't even touch the backboard... that was funny. Love Chuck, but was really funny.
If DA gives us 15 and 7 on a consistent basis, then Daryl Morey proves himself to be a genius once again.
Good game by DA tonight. This is the type of game that he can thrive in -- when the opposing big stays in the paint DA can stretch the defense by stepping out and knocking down the jumper in a pick 'n roll play. Still needs to get stronger physically to play on both ends. This will be his biggest challenge in adapting to the NBA game.
i think physically he's strong enough. imo it's just the physical nature of the nba battles inside the paint.
i'm happy as long as he has legs that actually function.. i hope he don't go down with a stress fracture or broken leg and whatnot every 5 months or something every year.. anything we can get from our big guys is positive news
"We obviously didn't know the scouting report that well on Andersen," Lakers coach Phil Jackson said. "We knew he's a shooter but we didn't see him playing at that level." doesn't phil watch film? andersen had a few nice offensive games already this year.
Andersen can shoot. Just give him time to get used to the NBA-style basketball. Remember when Scola and Yao first started? They weren't too hot themselves.
Spreading the floor, making his shots... this is why we got him. Now, if he can just do it consistently, he'll be great off the bench.
