I was pointing out the fact that people were already bagging him after one game - justifying my prediction from months ago....How many times must I repeat said statement?????

While not that talented, I think he has the specific skills at the C position to be effective in Adelman's offense.

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I think you missed the point pretty badly?

You went off prematurely after he had ONE bad game. Now he has ONE good game, and you're all "oh - but, but but - waaaah"

Mate, I'll bet I've seen more of Anderson playing in the last 3 years then you have.

When you talked about him after we got him, I remember saying "he's not the same 18 year old kid who played for Wollongong way back in 1998."

If you want him in the all-star game, he'll disappoint you.
If you want a backup quality C who can make a bucket, you'll be happy.

aussie - YOU desperately want him to fail - so much that you celebrated by declaring that you were 'dancing on his grave' after ONE game.
Well - if that's all it takes, he's back to life again.

Just be a man and admit you started a DUMB thread?

He seems to pass the ball well. I'd say he's probably better than Yao at that particular skill.

i think, along with his shooting, it was said he was a good passer, especially facing the basket

You have to excuse aussie rocket's sensitivity about Andersen. His entire credibility as a competent basketball scout is on the line here. I remember he was all over DA when we signed him, trying to play the role of BBS scout since he watched him play before the majority of us. If his own scouting fails him and Andersen contributes to the Rockets positively, his cred is done for.

But you were the one bagging him after the 1st game.

It's lthe same as betting that peope are going to be bagging Landry and then posting on the 1st game about Landry sucking.

    Lame.

Don't bet against Aussie Rocket, his psychic ability is uncanny. Look at his self-fulfilling prophecy about Andersen. :D

I don't want him to fail. I have nothing personal against him or anything like that...he is an Aussie and a Rocket, so why the eff would I personally choose to railroad the guy.

You have taken me grossly out of context.... If I regret the thread at all its because I should of realised it would be completely misinterpretated, I guess.

My stance was NOT one of judging him by one game - and there is every chance he might make a few shots against 3rd rate opposition from time to time. My judgments are made on following his career at local, international and Euroleague level over the last 10 years. If you are seeing differently it just means you are trying to pump him up because he's an Aussie - that's the way I see it anyway. I'm supportive too, but maybe just more realistic.

I'm still right when I say Andersen is not a contributor to an NBA team and will not have any effect on the Rockets season. That I will be sticking by, and we shall see whose right at the end of the day.

Interesting...so after one DA failed him he has now set out to condemn all DA's from the start!

Sure, and the BBS WANTED to know my opinion as an Australian whose seen more of him and is more familiar with him...its only natural that they'd want to know my thoughts in that situation - aswell as the thoughts of the other aussie guys on here.

This is just my take on Andersen - and I happen to disagree with my countrymen who think he's going to be good in the NBA.

My mistake...it sounded like the poster was saying you were all over "DA" in a positive manner, so immediately i thought about Derek Andersen, since i couldn't see you talking positively about this DA

I don't get why y'all are on Aussie Rocket. What exactly did Andersen do? Get 1 rebound? Make some jumpers against bench players? I don't get it. So far AR is on the spot. 1 rebound.

I think that's going too far. Yes, this is funny - but keep it in perspective. Andersen had one good game - and it wasn't even a fantastic game really. Remember when Kelvin Cato had that preseason monster triple double?

I'm laughing - but I'm not laughing at Aussie Rocket just yet and not sure that I'll get to. But for the sake of the Rockets, I sure hope Andersen proves Aussie Rocket wrong. Hell, I'm sure Aussie Rocket would LOVE to be wrong if it means the Rockets are better.

Dont get mad because your "prediction" was a bit off and now you're trying to back track and defend your comments, you made a judgment on his nba game after playing about 20 min in his first pre season game ever, you sir, are the ****
