I wonder how Embiid feels about all of this. He didn't seem that happy with Harden after their playoff exit.
If I remember right he wanted Tucker and he likely supports adding Melton because signing him allows them to move others… especially if it allows them to trade some existing players.
I think some might forget how woefully thin the 76ers roster was last year. Felt like they only had 6.5 guys they actually had confidence in playing by the end. House, Melton and Tucker aren’t big game changers but they can actually play in NBA games and represent upgrades of need for that team at fairly reasonable prices.
Is there any salary left that's tradeable to match with EGo? Thybulle + what ..? Cannot figure out how we could possibly send him there now that Green is gone
I can feel the fanbois getting hopeful again. Lol ya’ll dummies fall for the same shiit every year I swear.
The Sixers hope has nothing to do with what the sign this off-season. If Harden plays like last year they have no shot. If Harden plays like 3 years ago, they are realistic contenders. Was it an injury that held him back or is he actually over the hill..
Could be both. Even in his prime or when he’s healthy he’s still a terrible decision maker and being a turnover merchant doesn’t help.
But even with all his flags it always took an injury to his second best player for him to lose. And Embiid might be the best of all his teammates. They don't need him to always be the scoring option.
If they get the Harden of last years playoffs for most of this next regular season they will barely make the playoffs. Harden in Philly during the regular season last year was 21/7/10 on 60 TS% and a better than 3/1 assist to turnover ratio. That’s still great efficient production even if it’s a step back from his MVP days. They need something closer to that in the playoffs along with a healthier, deeper roster to realistically contend.
