Well, Morey's trade rumor is an annual routine. Nothing new.

As for Doc, we all know that nothing is guaranteed no matter what he says.

You mean like how he confirmed Simmons is not being traded?

That trade is Bradley Beal, Deni Avdija, Kispert, 3 FRP and 2 swaps for Tobias Harris and Paul Reed. Or at least, thats prob what Morey will demand

NO didnt want to send AD to the Lakers either but did so cuz LAl gave them a king package.

If Morey gave Tilman an offer he couldnt refuse then Tillman will send Harden to Philly with a smile. Thybulle and Maxey with Simmons aint gonna cut it. If Morey had a trade for Simmons and added that package on top of multiple picks maybe Harden could have landed in Philly instead of the Nets.

The main benefit of taking the Nets deal is it gave the Rox 4 picks, 3 swaps and a gamble on Oladipo. Morey has to beat that offer first before you insist Tilman isnt gonna deal with him.

Wasn't AD in the final year of his contract? NO agreed to the Lakers b/c it was either the Lakers' package or lose AD for pittance.

And that was never going to happen. Let's keep the discussion in reality, ok? We all knew that the Philly trade package would center around Simmons.

This is an illogical take. Do you understand that Tilman has "F you" money? If he felt personally insulted by Morey, then he's not going to do Morey any favors.

I'd keep Maxey over Beal because his skill set is more unique and puts pressure on a defense a way that Beal just doesn't.

Beal would have to go back to what he was when he was younger - off ball spot up shooter, rather than now, dribbling mid range pull up guy

Yeah NO were gonna lose AD. How's that different from Rockets who were gonna lose Harden? Harden was acting up and doing what he could to get traded, when he started throeing the ball at teammates and threw everyone under the bus publicly Rox were gonna lose Harden already. What pittance are you saying? Celtics also had interest in AD as did a no of teams. Point is NO didnt want to send AD to the Lakers but did so anyway due to the king psckage they got. If Morey offered Tilman a king package for Harden that would beat the Nets offer then Fertita would send Harden to Morey. Its the same logic NO owner had.

You want to center the discussion on reality but you keep saying Fertita wont do Morey any favors? How is that reality when that didnt happen either? Morey didnt even have a final offer ready he was in preliminary stage when the trade happened. "If he felt personally insulted by Morey he wouldnt help Harden out" -> How is this statement keeping it centered on reality? LOL

Here is Fertita saying he is ok with trading Harden to Philly if the package is much better than the Nets:
    https://nba.nbcsports.com/2021/01/2...-didnt-refuse-to-trade-james-harden-to-76ers/

Philly trade package doesnt need to center on Simmons, we already have precedent on Brooklyn trade package they trsded Levert and Allen for assets and then added that to the package for Harden. Thats reality ok? If Brooklyn could do that with Allen and Levert Philly could have done that with Simmons. Point is Morey didnt even try, was sitting around waiting for a phonecall instead of being proactive.

How is it different? Look at the time remaining on their contracts at the time of their trades.

    I'll re-frame your statement:

Tilman was so disinterested in helping Morey that he didn't even wait to hear Morey's offer before trading Harden.

Did you bother reading the article you linked?

"Fertitta obviously has incentive to convey that he didn’t block the best offer out of spite. The prior report made him look bad."

The Sixers realize their current roster is not suited to win an NBA championship. They’re determined to upgrade it with established players who can help propel them.

That is some hot garbage he is trying to move. Anyone care to try to come up with a feasible trade for Mr. Morey?

    https://www.inquirer.com/sixers/sixers-pj-tucker-nba-draft-free-agency-20220621.html

Is Daryl Morey bringing the Houston Rockets East to Philly?

Morey was the Rockets’ general manager for 13 seasons before being hired as the 76ers president of basketball operation in November 2020.

Then, in July 2021, former Rockets CEO Tad Brown was hired for the same position of Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment, which oversees the Sixers, New Jersey Devils, and the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. And Morey acquired former Houston star James Harden in a blockbuster trade from the Brooklyn Nets on Feb. 10.

Now, the executive is pursuing former Houston power forward P.J. Tucker, league sources confirm. Sources have also said the Sixers are looking to make a three-team trade that could involve Matisse Thybulle and the No. 23 pick to create space. Sources have said the Sixers are attempting to trade Tobias Harris, but they are having a tough time getting teams to take on his lucrative contract.

But it became public on Monday that Tucker would opt out of his $7.4 million player option for the 2022-23 season with the Miami Heat to become a free agent. Multiple sources have the Sixers intending to offer him a three-year, $30 million contract. Time will tell what will happen. But a source added that there’s mutual interest between Tucker, 37, and the Sixers.

Things could change before the start of free agency at 6 p.m. on June 30, but league executives believe there’s a good chance Tucker will become a Sixer.

Right now, the Sixers don’t have the cap space available to sign him for $10 million per season. As a result, they would have to clear space in order to fit in his salary.

But there has been league-wide chatter recently over the Sixers’ interest in Tucker even though a person close to the Sixers refutes what league sources are saying.

It would be pretty t*** if Morey found a way to bring in PJ and EG. Next just need GG to come outta retirement and join the bench. What's the prince up too these days?

Interesting that he'd opt out of his current contract for slightly more money but land on a much worse team.

The Heat made the Finals in the bubble and were one game away from the Finals, this year.

Any team with Morey is stuck in the mud. Forever in need of a long 3 and d player that shoots 40 percent from 3.
