What trade? I'm talking about when the Rox had Cwood, Roco and Lin as SL talent. Rockets had first dibs on them but gave them up cuz they didnt blow up immeidately.

For his draft position Morey's picks are generally above average. Most low 1st and 2nd rounders dont even pan out so I'd say Morey was an above average drafter. His best draft are Parsons and Capela imo.

You are right though, Morey didnt consider chemistry or culture. According to him he just wanted talent and the stars are gon a work it out. Obv that was a dumb idea lol. For some reason he also had a weird obsession with Melo who wasnt exactly an analytical darling. He is also a bit of a sleazeball and a big fat liar lol. Must have lied to rpetty much every player except Harden.

Analytics is useful for evaluating prospects even as drsftees.

Look at the best drafting teams they use analytics: Portland, OKC, Celtics and Nuggets.

I lnow he didnt draft lowry and dragic but Im talking about players with little to no games.

What does Morey preferring 2nd rounders have to do with this trade? Well, since high 2nd rounders are easily obtainable, maybe he felt that low 1st rounders are more expendable. And low 1st round picks aren't necessarily better than high 2nd round picks due to salary cap implications.

Brogdon isn't that good. I'd rather have Harden in a heartbeat. If you have championship aspirations, you have to focus on upside, and Harden has tremendous upside.

Then he'll opt into his $40m+ player option and treat next season as a "prove it" season.

Zero chance Tillman would've let Harden get traded to Philly. Maybe less than zero.

He catered to harden and enabled his step back 3 iso centric offense while discounting the value of role players throughout his stay. It fostered a toxic locker room and turned into a carousel of sidekicks/costars with harden pouting everytime he didn’t get his way/quitting. Tillman is a pile of garbage but morey is not vindicated here.

his obsession with James, his own monster.. will be his downfall. If morey is smart, he’s going to leverage hardens expiring contract and make it clear that any future plans involve him coming off the bench /signing for the MLE. The character that was on display this past series was not a fluke, and mandates looking at the glaring red flags that come with a cancerous personality

Tillman is a business man and a dumb nba owner, you’re right he would’ve shot down most deals but if it was significant enough I don’t think he would have .

Again, zero chance Tillman would've traded Harden for a package featuring Simmons.

Nah it depends on the package. If if was a king package ala NO-AD they would've done it.

At the end of the day Tillman is a businessman, and a successful businessman at that. He aint some trust fund baby he is the billionaire founder and in business you dont let your feelings get in the way of a great deal.

For reference NO owner was furious at AD and the last thing they wanted to do is give him what he wanted and trade him to the Lakers.

There's no way Tillman would've traded Harden to Morey and the Sixers. He had a personal grudge against Morey. Why would he help Morey out?

He’s saying that with the rifhtbpackage aka 10 future unprotected 1sts (just spitballing ) Tillman isn’t dumb enough to say no. He has a grudge but the success of the team and future profitability >>>

That couldn't have happened without us getting Simmons or Embiid, and we all know Embiid wasn't on the table.

True we’re arguing the same thing, you initially said he wouldn’t trade with morey, I’m saying he wouldn’t trade any reasonable* package with morey

    Will Harden force Morey out?

Simmons would 8bv have to be on the table otherwise the money wouldnt work.

Rox didnt want Simmons bjt other teams did Morey couldve worked out deals with other teams and given the Rox a good package similar to what the Nets did.

Come on. Don't be obtuse. Tillman did not want to help Morey out. One of the benefits of dealing with the Nets was that it didn't help Morey.

This and he lost leverage when Harden displayed a desire to go to Philly. Harden expressing willingness to to join BKN returned leverage back into Houston’s favor to force Philly and BKN into a bidding war.

Is it possible that his hamstring fully recovered during this off season and he returns to his old Houston form?
