No I don't believe that it's gone, but I also don't need people reminding me that it still exists....out of their own self-interest
Yeah, I much prefer people who, oh, make up bogus thread titles in their "own self interest" to people who post real events and facts. Oy. For the record, I would go to a bakery that had drunken white lady head cookies. (Have to be careful with the placement of head there... hmmm.)
I don't understand. Whose self-interest is served by reminding you that it exists? And how is it bad?
Right because you want it swept under the rug? Hear no evil, see no evil? Anyway, this is disgusting, i can't believe you didn't even condemn it. I'm all for freedom of expression - but I am never going to patronize this guy's place and I hope no one else does either. Justice would be this guy going out of business and a black "negro" taking over! Seriously, I'm pretty disgusted. Aren't you?
Just realize to focus it in the correct place. THE FRENCH! The dude is a froggy b*stard, do you really expect anything else?
Still not really understanding what your problem with that remark is, or why including it in an interview of her is either.
So now your response is to act prejudiced towards all of France even though that guy sounds like he was born and raised in NYC and his name is of Greek origin? I hope your next step isn't to use some derogatory term for Greeks.
Umm because apparently it offended her. Maybe some drunken negros will rob him for the drunken negros cookies.
Where are you getting that he's french? The bakery is called that. The man's name isn't French at all.
Discussion and debate. Free speech, capitalism, race relations, all relevant issues stemming from the original post.
I actually think our generation views racial and cultural humor as a guilty pleasure or "honest" self-expression, in the same way baby-boomers viewed taboos like drug use and casual sex. As long as I don't have to start paying a poll tax again, I'll just take it as a fair trade-off for getting to live in Western society.
I highly doubt there is a large amount of white people in Greenwhich Village, NYC, that are secretly enjoying racist cookies.
