I think the saying goes, don't dish out what you can't take. Again, when Longhorns football has hit rock bottom in recent memories, we can still mark down a W when we play Rice. You're not exactly breaking any news here.
great game ags....it feels great to defeat the defending conference champions after a horrible era of aggie football
Congrats to the aggies. Terrible season for the longhorns, we better make some changes in the offseason (but i doubt Mack fires anyone)
We have this guy running for us next year Hopefully he takes the ball away from Gilbert <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/u4rKW9yjkV8?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/u4rKW9yjkV8?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
Ya as this season indicated, the star system is an excellent way to predict how a team will perform on the football field. Come on man, I'm sure no one on your current O-line is below 4 stars. And we all saw how Von Miller sodomized them time and time again. Point being, it's not about the stars, it's about how a player fits in and buys into the coaching.
I go to texas but pointforward is right in the fact that we get top tier talent every year so it is moire about the coaching.
Of course, our coaching is at fault for some of our downfalls this year but some it has to do with talent, considering the injuries and departures.
I was grateful for Nebraska last year. They got away from the lets bend over for the spread offense mentality that every other Big 12 school succumbed to and implemented an NFL style defense. Its been unreal to see TAMU go the same route this year. Really excited about that... couple it with the dominate offensive line play TAMU will have for the next 2-3 years... its almost as if real football is making a comeback in whats somehow become the softest BCS conference in football.
It's only a talent problem because our coach needs superior talent to win. If you have a good scheme, you can out-scheme people instead of simply out-talenting them, as demonstrated by Boise, Oregon, and other other places.
what needs to happen for aTm to have a chance to win the south? i know ou has to beat osu, but not sure what else, if anything. and still loling at bigtexxx. wow, ut sucked this year, but no one knew that until he decided to post it during their last loss in their last game of this miserable season. personally, and granted i'm only a sweater vest fan, but i figured out this season sucked around mid-october, maybe even late september. hey bigtexxx...WE LANDED ON THE MOON!!!!
It's basically impossible at this point. A&M and OU needed to win; OU needed to squeak by very ugly. A&M needed to dominate. And then they had to hope the voters really loved A&M and didn't like OU and put A&M right next to OU in the polls (despite having 1 more loss, and OU just beating a top-10 team). The teams between OU and A&M had to lose so the computers would put A&M next to OU. If all that happened, A&M had a chance to basically be within 1 spot of OU in the BCS Standings, which is what's needed to win the Big 12 South. So step one was to beat Texas by 50 to shoot up the polls. Without that, it's over.
Big Win for A&M yesterday though they tried to give it away again. At this point winning the Tiebreaker is nearly impossible, but that is OK. We need to win a bowl game this year as it has been a while. Could be very tough though as we will likely play LSU/Bama in the Cotton or Stanford in the Alamo Bowl. Tough matchups either way, but that is the type of game we need to win to get recruiting back on track. Prior to the Kansas win this year, it had been over 2 years since we won on TV. We've got a lot of ground to make up in recruiting over the next 2 years, and this sure is a nice head start.
? Oregon? lol Boise is a good team, but it's not hard to go 12-0 or 11-1 when you only play one, or maybe even two good teams a year
