Fortunately, people aren't stocks. But...your analogy doesn't work. People buy stocks with 90% downside and 10% upside all the time. That's because when the downside hits, they don't lose much, but when it hits, the upside is limitless.

T-mac may have 70% downside. But that downside is what? It doesn't work out and he doesn't mess and after 20 games they trade him or tell him to go home. That's it.

The upside? He changes his game and uses his talents to make us even better...and if that happens, you gotta think Morey would change his mind and keep him around.

Still, I wouldn't view the t-mac situation like that, because people to me shouldn't be treated like investments or "assets". But that's me.

All in all, it seems that as much as the Rockets, and certain fans here, want him gone...it seems that T-mac is getting his 9th life and Morey and Adelman are going to see what the guy does and see how it works out.

If t-mac plays hard, continues to improve, and contributes to the team, I would be surprised if Morey was as hard pressed to move him.

I did and I enjoyed it. Your pointed post is an example of highlighting people speaking beyond themselves. Those same folks are upset because he has been injured and still has more All-Stars votes than their so-called favorite players. If they demand that we get over it (being T-Mac) why can't they do the same?

What you have brought up is the beauty of print media, we can go back and follow the "paper trail." As of this moment, T-Mac is an ACTIVATED player on the team. The Rockets' game announcers, who people seem to value when they are hyping up Budinger, Landry and/or Brooks's play, have also offered their own positive assessments of his play. Coupling what they said with that of the Coach, T-Mac and what I saw, as a fan I am pleased with today's game and his performance. Most importantly, they won!!!

Was there a chemistry issue in those 7/8 minutes? Did he hog the ball? Did he look like a cancer? It's just one game but according to some of you, he couldn't bring anything positive to this team at all. Many of the players and fans were rooting for him as they should and have the right to do. If you are a fan of the team and you're about wins then what complaints can you have now? Or are your true beliefs being exposed?

    Go Rockets!!!

There is no point in me reading this entire thread, and that would take me a very long time, but to those that thought the "Toronto Game" article was awesome and never want to see TMac again....get over it!

Mess up our chemistry?? We were 2 games over .500! I love watching our team without TMac. We are good, we play hard, we are fun to watch, and we may be a playoff team, but unfortunately that would be our peak. With TMac, we could potentially get to the next level. Sure, we can trade him, but at this point, he is on our team! Get over it. McGrady certainly has not lost the city of Houston, merely about 100 people that happen to voice their opinions more often than most on Clutchfans.

Decided to go to the game and get one of those life size Aaron Brooks bobble heads. I noticed during pre-game warmup that McGrady was out there shooting with the other activated players, but hadn't heard that he would be making his debut. Most of the crowd gave him a standing ovation, including myself. He did look a little rusty and needs to get in game shape. Love him or hate him, he does have a beautiful shot. Somebody mentioned he didn't run the break on a certain play, but neither did Chuck Hayes. Both players were near the basket and Brooks was gone before either one could blink an eye.

Props to Chase Budinger, he gave us just we needed from the SG position. Good ball handling and great shooting coming off screens. Started thinking about how we are going to play Ariza, Battier, McGrady & Chase. IMO, Ariza needs to switch out with Battier at the SF position. He must become more selective & efficient as a shooter. Pairing him up with T-Mac may allow him to go back to his old self (he's not a primary scorer). Budinger & Battier looked like they played very well together & complimented each other's game. Barring any trades or injuries, this team has great depth and the ability to play various combinations of players.

LOL it's funny that after an article about how Tmac "lost the city of Houston" Tracy plays for the first time in like a year and gets a standing ovation from the fans. What an unfortunate coincidence. That's up there with "Rafer all Rockets need at point guard" then Rafer costing us a series of games afterward.

People in Houston aren't going to BOO Tmac. Have you been to any Rockets games?

You REALLY HAVE TO PISS OFF Houston fans to get them to boo.

    aka Scottie Pippen.

I have to admit I was surprised that he received a standing ovation .. very interesting considering how much we were pissed off with him last year.

    Houston fans are classy.

that's understandable. but they gave him a STANDING OVATION. they could have simply clapped casually. it's nice to see most rocket fans still got some respect for tracy.

Some people compare him to Pippen. Its fairly obvious the hate for McGrady really only exists on this site.

Fantastic points in this efficient post, my friend. If one were to review one of the 600 posts in article reaction thread, Berkmaniac's post would be the ultimate of all readings. Very wise observations, you have made. Possibly the greatest interpretation of the situation at hands.

    Solomon stated in the Chronicle:

The team allowed fans and media to run with the idea that McGrady was healthy last season when it was obvious he wasn't. It kept repeating the refrain that MRIs McGrady underwent showed no change while leaviing out the fact that those MRIs showed damage that might require surgery to repair.

This article sums up perfectly the problem with TMAC. GREAT JOB! And the kicker, you posted video to support it. Id rather be a .500 ball club with hard working players then a .550 ball club with a self centered over paid diva. Just my .02; you dont have to agree, but i think its pretty evident that TMAC has absolutely no heart\pride.

Outrageous, Inexcusable, and Unbelievable behavior by the management of the Houston Rockets if Solomon is indeed to be trusted. Could today possibly be the initial instance in which this information was leaked, or was the information already in the public domain?

Old news....microfracture was always an option since 2007 I believe, many doctors just said he needed to strengthen the quad.
