Good read, really breaks down the moment when a lot of those who had been staunch Tmac supporters finally couldn't come up with any excuses any more for his shenanigans.

I don't want to ever see him on the court again in a Rockets jersey.

Excellently written article that really opened my eyes to exactly how many Houston fans feel. I have been on both sides of a lot of McGrady bickering on this board, but I have never understood so clearly the side that sees value in dismissing him from the team.

I guess now it only comes down to whether you believe that he can improve or if he is still in pout mode.

wait a minute, back then all i saw was the end of the moon dunk and tmac not contesting it, didn't watch that game at all...now looking at this vid, did no one actually see him half limping out there?? He's clearly favoring his leg. Now saying he "faked" it is one argument, but saying he just quit is a completely different one. I don't see a player quitting there, i see a guy who's not able to move well and shouldn't have been out there to begin with.

Hmm, you may just have to watch Kobe the rest of the season the way its looking right now.

I had had his back up until that game, even through some of his more pathetic moments. But I've never been more irate with a player than I was with McGrady when I saw our offense breaking down to nothing with him hanging out by halfcourt because he was "only touching the ball once every 5 minutes."

I'm still hard-pressed to say that I don't want to give the guy a shot, but as a Rockets fan, I know I can't put any faith in his coming back and being an impact player. He and many other players have disappointed us far too many times.

Trade his ass or let his contract come off the books and make a play for someone who does give a **** next summer.

I like the last line. Anything special as to the timing of this piece? Is something about to happen?

Dude, he insisted on being out there, and then pouted because he didn't get the ball enough. There is no debate: he quit. He essentially admitted it himself.

Preach it, my brotha. Preach it.

    The guy has no heart.

I wish I could remember the game---maybe against Detroit? drawing a blank---when McGrady was dribbling up court (lackadaisacally, or need I add that?), reached the 3 point line....

....and reached down and grabbed his ankle and "limped" off the court. Until that moment, he showed no signs whatever of a problem. No limp, nothing.

Forgiving a game, or even a season, isn't that hard for me to do. Bottomline is whether or not he can and/or will produce something positive for the team right now..be it through his play, his trade value, etc. No matter the situation then or now, it is in everyone's best interest currently to hope for the best in McG's return and performance.

I'm interested to see where you saw him limping when he was plunking his ass at the half-court line. It doesn't matter how badly injured you are, you can at bare minimum stand at the three-point line and actually try to do something with the ball instead of trying to keep it away from you and then whine about the ball being away from you after the game.

And yeah, the Toronto game was the "I'm done with him" moment. The dunk was awful, but that standing around and passing the ball around was being done throughout the whole stinking game. Even if you are injured at that point, you can go to Adelman, say injury, and send in someone (heck, we could have put in Cook if we had had him at that point and he would have been more useful out there) instead of forcing everyone else to play 4 on 5.
