Are you going to listen to him? Never take McGrady's word, but KNEE INJURIES are the toughest thing to recover from them, especially in basketball.

Anyways, this thread pretty much summed it up that T-Mac is gone. I bet he is gone tomorrow, on that "December 15th" date.

100% right, I was a big Tmac fan and if you asked anybody I knew, I would be the first to defend him...After that game, I said I would never again make excuses for tmac....The guy has no heart...I dont bash him now, but it is what it is.. If he comes back and produces it cool, if he dont then I wouldnt care either...but when its all said and done...he just doesnt have heart...its just a truth I had to come to terms with

Good read. I've been waiting for this story. Admittedly, I'm a little disappointed Clutch didn't dish the insider stories after teasing with the "director chair" at practice tidbit. Maybe it's still too early for that.

So can one of our insider posters confirm whether "the 2005-06 lottery season saw him miss many others for mysterious reasons" had do with this?

Oh yeah, who's the T-Mac homer who one starred this thread. Own up.

Never take McGrady's word? I agree. He's the one currently saying he's ready to play. Clutch's article shuold refresh everyone's memory that he said he couldn't hack it, took two weeks off to be ready to go, went so far as to proclaim himself BACK TO NORMAL, and only after that pulled up lame with his Toronto game and the backhanded way he announced his season was over.

Great read Clutch. It is terribly sad and telling that I knew the game, the moment, the faint slap at the ball, just by the title of your piece.

Who knows, but those mysterious back issues went completely away after that settlement.

Man, the dude was playing half-lame. You don't think that has an effect on someone's mental health, someone's psyche? You've never met anyone who is injured, especially if that person's life revolves around doing something active?
So all the haters will say, "Well why'd he whine about playing then? Why not sit out?"

Because he had made all those promises at the start of the season. Because the team was awesomified and had huge expectations on account of the new ron ron addition. So what did he do? He put a brave face on things and thought he could get over the pain. Guess what? He couldn't. That's hardly his fault.

Why'd he say it was about not getting the ball? Because he didn't want to whine about more injuries when haters like y'all had already been after him for half the season claiming his injuries were fake. So he put a gruff, macho face on it, and made that, admittedly stupid, comment. Deal with it.

The fact that he took himself out of play for almost a whole season willingly, in the face of all the backlash he knew he would get speaks volume for me about how much he cares about the team doing well long-term. The fact that he's shutting up and doing what he's told happily right now speaks volumes for me.

And face it, all you haters will dissolve back into the woodwork where you belong if, no when, he comes back and starts helping this team get to the next level.

Forgot to add this T-mac cameo before the Toronto game. He's looking in good spirits and toeing coach's official line- both good signs.

OK, what's the story behind all these new accounts that seemingly only have the purpose of being all things pro-McGrady? Are they ghost accounts of existing posters on this board, his fans froms t-mac.com, his paid staff/Adidas fighting the fight?

That really is all there is to it. You all can pick apart what he does off the court, how he handles things with the organization, fans, media, whatever.

None of it matters if a player wins. Plain and simple. When Kobe was winning with Shaq, he's the man. When Shaq left, things were not so happy-happy-go-good in Kobe-land. Wanting out of LA. Throwing teammates under the bus, quitting on court, off-court issues, etc.

Then...Kobe gets the "how did they pull that off" trade for Gasol that apparently was the last missing piece, and wins again. All the sudden he's the man again. Apples and oranges comparing anyone in the league really, but in the end. You win, everything else is forgotten.

Until Tracy wins a ring (if he wins one), he'll be regarded as he is now. Not exactly in the best regards. If he wins a ring, the perception of him is completely different.
