I agree there is a reason. But I'd argue that their desire to complete their education was due to the fact they are more grounded and mature to begin with - not that they are more mature because they remained in College all four years.

YES! exactly. It's the guys who didn't go to school who have that "superstar" mentallity. the element of Team chemistry is develped in organized ball (ex. College) playing for a high school does not count.

The kids come into the NBA used to being the popular guy in school. They dont know crap about being part of a TEAM.

ROX are def a great example of what educated guys can bring.

Damn, thanks for refreshing my memory. The recent horrible play of Ariza sort of erased my hatred for T-mac....but now, it's clear again why the organization wants to move on with T-mac, even if he may be a better option at the 2/3.

There was an article in Orlando about how Tracy grew up without any male role models, I will see if I can dig it up.

I think his demeanor has a lot to do with being coddled all his life, he is getting some tough love now, though it may be too late.

I think when he was drafted- i remember his negative points said something about his attitude.

I think really think talent should be developed in college. Players come into the NBA more mature.

You know i read somewhere Scouts said Tracy will only last 5 years as a player b/c of "physical" issues. This was a reason he didn't go to College.

Most of us are prone to occasional bouts of pettiness and pouting.

The question with T-Mac is whether that kind of behavior is endemic.

It's getting harder and harder to exuse his behavior. I try to find the goodness in everyone, and I'm sure T-Mac is a good person at heart (just like Ron Ron). But his immaturity and massive chunk of salary hurts the team more than his talent helps it.

It was a bad game for T-mac and a horrible year, but he has not been a quitter his whole life. Injuries have slowed him down and frustrated him. There might be a problem with his personality, but he is as talented as Kobe or Lebron, but just doesn't have that killer mentality.

You can't base your thoughts on McGrady because of this one game. What about all the good things he's done?

Cool story, let's see you play with a knee that needs surgery. Good read I guess, but you can't say a quit on his team because he was playing injured.

I guess Randy Moss is a quitter too,

You can't? When he himself said he got frustrated because he was only touching the ball every five minutes and mentioned nothing of being injured?

omg give me a break..you guys are a bunch of idiots and haters...tmac has no heart..that's bs...i guy who gave it his all vs Jazz while the rest of the team wasn't doing jack...has no heart?...a guy who breaks down and cry's at a press conference cause he wanted to win so bad has no heart??!!...he gave it his all in the playoffs nobody can refute that..you pick out his worst moment and make it seem like that's who he is..that's no who he is..T-mac was obviously injured...but was out there anyway cause he cared too much about the team and winning...Rockets almost beat the Jazz in game 7...without that Kirlenko three ...rockets move on to the 2nd round..it's not Tmac fault Luther Head cant guard anybody...It's not Tmac's fault.. Yao can't get a rebound...I hate when people blame the playoff losses soley on Tmac...it's bs...'It's on me stuff"...if you really think it's Tmacs fault we lose..you're an idiot..If Tmac and Yao had the supporting cast...we might've gone to the finals...people like to single out a player and blame them for "TEAM" failures...Team failures?!...are you gonna blame the 40 pt blow vs Mavs on Tmac?...are you gonna blame Yao ming being injured on TMac...Tmac has no control over that...i'll admit Tmac didn't handle his injury last year in the best way...it was a mistake...but this Tmac is a Evil Villian Cancer stuff has to stop...and don't call me a Tmac fan..I honstley think he'll make the team better...people pick out these little things that don't even have anything to do with anything..and blow it up like it's a big deal...it's not a big deal, it just seems like a big deal...cause people are READING TOO MUCH INTO IT.. it's nonsense...for example..if Tmac shows up to the game to support the team...Haters say he's jinxing us...if Tmac doesn't show up...Haters say he's not supporting the team...if tmac is a team player and is assisting and getting other players involved the game...he's not giving it his all...if Tmac looks to score..he's selfish...and doesn't play team basketbll..he's MEmac.. the hate against Tmac..alot of it is MANUFACTURED HATE...IT'S HATE THAT IS MADE UP CAUSE YOU THINK A PLAYER IS THINK SOMETHING OR DOING SOMETING THAT HE'S NOT...Haters will find fault in WHATEVER Tmac does..it's true!..thinks that aren't a a big deal are made into a HUGE deal to the haters and sensationalist sports writers...that's all!

This "T-Mac Only Fans" and "T-Mac Haters", Some people are "Rockets Fans", Some aren't BS is supremely out of hand. This is EASILY the best thread I've ever read since I'm extremely interested in reading almost every post of every page. So much passion, so many people's views, etc. Why?

Because we are ALL ROCKETS FANS! ALL OF US!

And this thread proves that more than anything. From the ever-confident 99ers to the newcomer 09ers! Otherwise we wouldn't be arguing on this site, we'd be arguing on TMac's site. Love Mac or hate him, just relax with the useless labeling of each side of the argument. It creates even more meaningless posts of name-calling and belittling and even less thought-out analysis, criticisms, and opinions. BECAUSE THAT'S REALLY ALL THEY ARE! Opinions! We all want what's best for the team, we just have our different views on whether he will hurt or help.

I was just the minister standing on the mount trying to teach the ignorant masses.

I can not be held responsible if said masses refused to take the preaching to heart.

It sounds like that there is a trade soon. Clearly there is little love for him in Houston when you are listing to local sport radios or watch local sport TV. Most of people in the town are ready to move on without him, do not know about the owner Les, overall it is his team.
