[Chad Ford Insider] Hou working on 4 team deal [Update: Done Deal - Ariza for C Lee]

There were a lot of people that felt one of these two ways:

1. Rafer was our 'floor general' and we would have lots of problems without him as the steady hand directing the play.

2. Lowry was an unproven back-up, and we should've at LEAST gone after Memphis' first string PG.

 

Yeah, something. I don't think we've got a legit quality starting 3 now. I watched Battier closely after the all-star break (when he usually has his "burst") and the guy has simply lost a step.

I believe he's still valuable but I don't see him as a starter anymore, unless it's in the playoffs for a specific matchup.

I love Budinger but he's still raw. I was happy to go into the season with this roster unchanged, and this trade makes no sense to me.

Lee's a good player (reminds me of Elie) but we just got shorter and less athletic.

I think its safe to say both the Nets and the Hornets lose out on this deal long-term, while Indiana made out like bandits. The Rockets made a lateral move talent wise, but got some free assets and saved a ton of $$$ in the process.

 

interesting that the Rockets.com roster has Lee wearing #5.

No more #1 on a "current" Rockets' player.

he was "surprised" by Rockets trade to New Orleans. He didn't ask for a trade, but he's ecstatic to play with Chris Paul.

I really wish we would of got Darren collison cause I trully beleive he is better than Brooks and more dominating for years to come

 

That depends, upon a lot of factors......but running Adelman's read and react takes about 3 years to learn....Brooks is entering that zone.....

Collison may indeed be a good player, gonna be fun to watch them battle.

I think they have gotten better. Ariza is no scrub. He is an excellent role player for Chris Paul. He would have been an excellent role player for Yao.

 

Once Ariza got here and the team found out how bad he was at dribbling the ball etc, they realized he would not fit in with Yao at all.

DD, please stop. you are so blinded to the fact that Ariza was a pretty good ball player who still had tons of potential to grow, and only spent a year in Adelman's system. Why are you hating bro? Did Ariza do something to your family? I don't understand. Yes, it's okay not to like him or to point out the problems with his game, but this is a guy who's had triple doubles. He fills out a stat-sheet and has a ton of talent. Don't act like he can't play ball.

I'm happy about the trade, but all this ignorant Ariza hate is just in bad taste. Get over Ariza, he's not on our team anymore!

 

I agree, I am just having some fun with the haterade stuff, rolling with it ya know. I do think his game is overated and he has a lot of flaws that were exposed, but I don't think he is terrible, just a role player, with limited upside.

And, for that, I am thankful.

There will be another trade down the line. Where Morey use that TE to absorb a bad contract. Cause rox could just trade for Lee and take the 4m TE instead of using a TE to absorb Lee's contract and obtain a larger TE.

They have to be something down the line. Here's hoping that it will be gerald wallace.

 

What do you expect him to say?? "We're going to win a Championship?" lol. It's all about "me" now since he knows they're not contend for Championship.
