[Chad Ford Insider] Hou working on 4 team deal [Update: Done Deal - Ariza for C Lee]

Courtney is a sometimes used as a woman's name, like Tracy. Hopefully he works out better for us than Tracy did.

 

Guy is the real deal.. better than some people think. 11 ppg in 29 mpg in just three years.. and he's a GREAT defender.. not overrated like Ariza was.. Trevor was good too, but Lee can better for us. Loving this trade from a money perspective already, now even more from a basketball perspective..

 

Smart move by Morey. Imagine the sales boom from asians all over the world buying the Lee rockets jersey! haha

 

I think Arizas on the court body language was terrible last season. He throw so many childish tantrums it was'nt funny. I bet that also came into the equation of morey's thinking.

 

I stated 3 days ago that we should have traded for Lee but didn't know that is was gonna only take Ariza, granted it was a 4 way.

I see Patterson getting the nod over Hayes by mid season and Hayes being moved over into his most effective role as a situational defensive specialist. Wouldn't surprise me to see Jermaine Taylor moved in some small deal for a backup PG now that the rockets have Courtney Lee in the fold.

 

And everyone in the GARM faints. This is a monumental day. Just messing with you DD. :grin:

I am so surprised that Lee is a super star for many people here...

 

PeterKingX.. can you calm down? What do you like so much abt Ariza that makes it so hard to see him go? His constant over-dribbling and TOs? His poor shot selection, especially with the shot-clock running down? Do you remember the plays when he'd jump mid-air and throw up a shot off the glass to nowhere with 5 seconds left on the shot-clock?

Do you miss him yelling at Scola for not being where he threw the ball?

Seriously.. Lee can't be much worse than that, but he is much cheaper and more disciplined. Lee will help the Rockets more than Ariza.

Good trade for majority of the teams although I think NO should've gotten more for Darren Collision. From a Rockets perspective, I like the idea of trimming down salary and getting rid of a low-efficient, high volume player in Ariza but I honestly don't know much about C.Lee so I can't really say anything until I see him play. As for a roster move, saving $10m and getting a true back up shooting guard seems like good move to me. Also that $6m trade exception is a good thing too so I can't really blame Morey for anything he's done here.

You know, after taking some time to think about this deal...

My god, New Orleans management are idiots. When he was starting last season, Collison averaged 19 points and 9 assists on .485 shooting. .485! That's obscene efficiency from a guard (high turnovers notwithstanding). Is Ariza really the best they could get for him?

While "in Morey I trust", and getting a solid 2 who can defend at the 1 and 2 positions is a positive, I do worry that by strengthening our backup 2 position we took the weakest starting position on the team (the 3) and made it weaker (Ariza > Battier). Hopefully Morey has another move in mind to address that (if not this year, then next), or hopefully CBud makes a significant jump up in his level of play.
