That doesn't surprise me at all if true. I'm not an Ariza hater by any means. But his attitude concerns me sometimes. I've seen too many times he stares/yells at teammates for ignoring him. Loose cannon may be too exaggerating. But I can definitely see potential chemistry issues there.

I'm liking the trade more and more now.

Courney Lee will flourish playing with Yao. Good trade

BTW, Indiana would be LOVING the trade

Ariza told Y! Sports he was "surprised" by Rockets trade to New Orleans and didn't ask for a trade, but he's ecstatic to play with CP3.

Ariza to Y! on Hornets: "I want to win and help them win. I want to be an All-Star there."

Ariza to Y! on CP3 call: "(Paul) just calling me let me know he was comfortable where he is and with the steps the organization is taking."

More Ariza to Y!: "(Paul said) I'll do everything to win. I'm just more hungry now. Just getting to the playoffs is not good enough for me."

I'm not a fan of this deal at all. Who really cares if this deal saves the Rockets money? Will the Rockets drop ticket prices since they are spending less? Or charge less for beer? No. All I care about is that a trade benefits the Rockets from a basketball standpoint and I dont see it with this deal. Battier is older and cant handle heavy minutes at this stage of his career. And while I like C-Bud you cant play him with Martin, Brooks and Scola otherwise the defense will really suffer.

The only other deal I see coming is a salary dump of Jeffries. DD was right, the Rox never had any intention of paying the lux tax. Sad to see Ariza go. I'm not a worshipper of Battier like many on this board.

1 Lee is a much better offensive player than Ariza

2 Hollinger said that Lee could be an elite defender

    3. Stan Van Gundy said that Lee will be the Rockets 2nd best defender behind Battier his first day on the court

    3. Morey said that Lee has a very high BBIQ, much like Battier and he can guard three positions including the point guard position

    4. Lee improves Rockets offense while adding another Battier like defender to the team while making more playing time for eventual starter Budinger at the SF spot.

    5. Rockets get a 6 million dollar trade exception

Exactly what is not to like about this deal?

Wait until Kobe/Artest, Lebron/Wade, Butler/Berbous, etc... start going off and you need Ariza and Shane to slow them down. No Shane and they are shooting over the 6'3" Lee (he's not 6'5") at will. Oh we need Trevor, because Lee is too short and Shane too slow.

Bottom line, I'm beginning to question Morey's genius. Why did we sign Ariza for $7 mln per yr when he knew Scola and Lowry required major upgrades. Also, to get a smaller player who is looking to start and develop his game. Trust Lee isn't coming here to sit on the bench.

There's nothing about this trade I dislike. I didn't mind Trev, but he wasn't someone I easily rooted for... At the very least I like Lee's defense better than Ariza's. Mainly because I don't like gamblers... I'd much rather have a cerebral defender than one that gambles on steals.

I don't mind players going for steals. You can't make something out of nothing by playing it safe.

The one day I'm super busy and can't get on the computer this happens.

I freaked out when I first heard this, one because I'm an Ariza hater, and two because I thought Lee was like 6'1.

Btw might want to change the title. People might think we got C(Center) David Lee. Even though he's a power forward.

I think we definitely could of, but it would've meant taking on Posey's contract as well. It just goes to show that this was a salary dump move. That or Morey REALLY covets Courtney Lee.

What does this trade mean for our NY Picks?

They just got better!! We made Nets and Pacers a better team IMO. NO was already going to be better than the Knicks. Now we just helped push the knicks picks up 2 spots.

    Morey is a genius!

Teams wanted Marbury, Iverson, and T-Mac also. One of them is in China, The other one is getting drunk, the last one got the largest paycut in history.

    Comment from Nets fan:

"Totally agree — now let’s hope it happens. I like CLee a lot, but I fear that he is what he is at this point. I’m more excited to see what TWill can become. That said… Houston has a way of making other teams look silly in trades. Lets hope that doesn’t happen."

    In Morey we trust ;p
