With the trades to IND and NJN I think that it will put them above the Knicks

only helping our draft picks more. This trade could turn out to be better than

    it looks.

    We're turning into the nets???

You're right, i dont see it, and i doubt ANYONE else does. Yet, you're right, and a billion of us are wrong, right?

No, you operate off of emotion, like always. You post a few sentences, several times, of your initial reaction, which sually doesnt make sense, and then end up taking it back.

I'm guessing you would never accept Brook Lopez either, huh? And i guess we can forget about wade on last year's miami team. Wouldnt want him either, but bring along Sasha, because he's Lakers Sasha,

Courtney Lee is a great free throw shooter. We just might become a free throw extraordinaire team!

This roster looks to be shaped more to Adelman's Sac teams.
I don't think we are getting stronger defensively and I think we are giving up rebounds.

This off season quoting Morey we needed rim protection- quality bigs

I hope Patterson is a rebounding machine.

We have officially transformed from the defensively tough JVG 1/2 court game to the King's offensive minded 'outscore em' team.

Problem #1 is that Yao is a 1/2 court back to the basket scorer, he is best getting fed in the low post. Yao will throttle back a running offensive minded team.

And we don't have the rebounders for a good transition game.

I am perplexed that we didn't build the team around Yao's strengths, unless we are preparing for him not to return to a dominant role.

I agree with Budinger though. I think he is special but I just dont trust Adelman will give him minutes over Battier starting to let him develop in that direction. Thats why I hate this move. I am not to sure Morey is gonna be capable of making a big move even if this move is for that. He only made that martin move so far thats kind of big. Thats not to say he couldnt and it wouldnt be huge is he did. Its just that its starting to seem like these smaller moves are his thing and he wont make a huge move. So we gained Battier back as the starter and gained Courtney as a backup. Thats how i will see it until the results state otherwise because that what it is right now. All this Morey speculation about moves has turned in zero so far. The guy has done zero to make impressed until one actually materializes that we have all be dreaming about or visualizing him moving us into that direction. Its not healthy to idolize man anyways. Especially for future predictions and promises. Thats what they do in cults and I am not that type of person.

Sasha has proven he can contribute to a champion, what has Chris Paul done?
Kwame Brown has proven he can contribute to a champion, what has Dwight Howard done?

I'm fairly certain Hedo Turkoglu started at the 3 for that Orlando team.

Regardless, Courtney Lee's okay. Just okay. He can play some defense and he's a pretty good shooter. But he's a backup on this team.

With this deal in mind, I don't really get why we signed Ariza in the first place.

I never take anything back. Its my opinion and will always be it until Morey makes the move that changes it.

Why are you guys so upset? Lee is a better shooter than Ariza for almost 1/5 the price, offers comparable level of D, and gives us the depth at the 2 position that we desperately need. Do you people seriously want JT to be our only true SG behind slightly injury prone Martin? Ariza on the other hand, makes 5 mil a year to jack up bad shots and average a couple of more boards, and add to the glut that we have at SF.

Come on Rox fans... try using your freaking brain for a second about this guys. Not only do we save money appropriately, but we get young comparable talent for peanuts the next couple of years and increase our depth even more. Do you guys seriously want CBud or Battier logging heavy minutes at 2 spot? Battier is too slow now to defend the quick 2 guards consistently and CBud could never defend them to begin with. Talk about dumb knee-jerk reactions...

No doubt that is what they are preparing for, and Ariza was a decent rebounder, but so is CBud....

I think this team is just fine the way it is, and they will make another move at the deadline based upon how Yao's foot is doing.

Not sure how people think we got worse defensively. We had 3 capable SF defenders, and 0 at SG. Now we have 2 at SF and 1 at SG. Seems like we got better defensively.

No you're right....he was starting at the 2 **typo**

And Lee is okay and so was Ariza, but if both players are just okay then I want the cheaper version of okay. We needed a back up 2 guard that can play in this offense and Jermaine Taylor fits another build. He looks for his shot too much. We signed Trevor Arzia last season because they thought he could grow into a 2nd scorer with playing time; which we had plenty of last season with Tracy and Yao gone. When it turned out that he's limited offensively and we drafted a rookie with limitless potential (Bud) Trevor became expendable fast.

Don't know if this is true, but it would help explain things about Ariza. He is becoming a journeyman who gets moved around a lot.

Starting this season I think this will be his 5th team in 9 years.

not sure if this was posted, but kevin arnovitz at truehoop just wrote a recap: http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/post/_/id/18923/breaking-down-the-4-team-trade

    Houston Rockets
    Coming: Courtney Lee
    Going: Trevor Ariza
On the surface, the deal for the Rockets appears to be a cost-cutting measure. Houston re-upped Luis Scola and Kyle Lowry this summer, while signing Brad Miller to a free agent contract. Deep into luxury tax territory, the Rockets unloaded the remaining four years and $28 million on Ariza's deal in exchange for Nets guard Courtney Lee. The Rockets' front office deeply believe the best value contracts in basketball are max deals granted to transcendent superstars, and rookie scale contracts belonging to productive young players. In Lee, the Rockets get a young wing who will earn only $1.35 million in 2010-11. In addition, the Rockets hold a team option on Lee for $2.23 million in 2011-12. That's real value for a 24 year old with with the talent to start. Lee and Rockets' starting shooting guard Kevin Martin train together in the offseason -- the latter regarded as an older brother to the third-year guard. Although Lee might not be the stopper Ariza is, he's capable of covering either guard position and certainly tread water against some of the league's less dynamic 3-and-D small forwards. Lee will find strong organizational dynamics in Houston, similar to what he encountered during his rookie season in Orlando, where he succeeded. With Ariza's departure, the Rockets will have to figure out who picks up his minutes beyond Lee and whether that means experimenting selectively with Martin at the 3 spot. "

    interesting stuff.
