WhaT!!!! Courtney LEE!!?? Morey must have lost it. Unless heis getting our Sg for when we trade Martin this makes no sense?! We have Kevin Martin and Courtney Lee two shooting guards now???? As our starters? Morey lost it. You guys pumped his ego up too much and he finally broke.

Thats my knee jerk out of the way. OK[deep breath]. Must be areason behind this. Would love to see it. I think this is prep for something like Budinger starting or something?? I cant think of it unless another trade is coming.

 

Well they are in WIN NOW mode. Not "lets wait till Courtney Lee develops" mode.

 

Not a good trade. Not a bad trade either but we don't gain anything with it.

 

Traded an expensive low-efficiency player for a cheaper, high efficiency player. Sounds like a Morey deal to me.

This trade hurts us a lot defensively but its up to Shane to pick it up.

 

Perhaps now Martin is expendable and Morey is prepping for something bigger and better...

I really am not a fan of Trevor Ariza, but, there is no doubt that this weakens the Rockets defensively. Lee is not a good defender and any combo of Brooks/Martin/Lee/ Battier will likely be the equivalent of wet paper towell for opposing offenses. They will be able to get right through to our less than stellar defensive frontcourt... Let's hope for more from this trade.

No thank you. Unless Lee is just as good a defender as Ariza, I'm not willing to do this trade but then again we could always have Coach Battier to tutor him on defense.

Its not really Morey's fault. If the boss says we need to shed salary, then Morey has to make it happen, in the best possible way ofcourse. This move doesnt hurt the team..still debating if it helps.

Cbud will be better than Trevor anyway....probably is already.

I don't get as attatched as I used too, unless a player has been a huge part of the orginization for some time. The Team must do what they feel is best to better themselves.

Look at how Lebron treated the cavs orginization, you think he had their best interest in mind?

Team has to do what a team has to do.

 

How? Battier is a better defender than Ariza. Courtney Lee is an excellent defender. Seriously, people are talking out of their asses. If you know nothing of Courtney Lee, don't pretend you do. Go read the scouting reports. They rave about Lee's defense.

For the Rockets, the move is basically a large salary dump. This summer the Rockets spent a lot of cash signing Luis Scola, Kyle Lowry and Brad Miller to free agent contracts and their payroll ballooned. Before the trade, the team was bracing for a $8 million plus luxury tax hit. This deal saves them $28 million on the life of the contract and roughly $10 million (when you factor in luxury tax payments) this season.

i think lee can be a very good player if he is one of the last options, which he wasn't on the nets.
