We would have already been under the tax had we never signed a 34 year old Brad Miller.

For all the folks posting the missed layup at the buzzer, I have two words....

    ...rookie year.

Battier is freakin' godly. The problem is we don't know if he's going to be traded or if we're going to resign him after this year. Ariza I thought was meant to replace him/Artest as the defensive perimeter player to mark the opposing 3s.

Are you seriously under the impression that we did not need miller?

We got rid of that ridiculous contract of Ariza's. Who honestly wanted to see him here for another 4 years.

Hmmm....maybe Morey got rid of Arizas' long contract...replacing that with Lee and his expring contract...knowing a team with a certan player he's coveting was going to try and sign Lee after this season? Then if the player Morey's coveting wants out, the team would prefer to deal with Morey because he has the player they want (Lee)

Who knows?....but I like this trade...think outside the box

Too bad Morey could not figure out a way to trade Jeffries instead of Ariza.

When I think of Courtney Lee, I think of this

one thing we probably will not see too much of next season is a Lowry/AB backcourt which is good

I thought the lack of a backup SG forced AB to play too many minutes last year the team is far more balanced.

While I wish to see how Trevor would play alongside Yao , we already know how Shane plays and while shane doesnt have the length nor the athleticism of Ariza he is by far the smarter player.

    AB/Lowry
    Martin/Lee/Taylor
    Battier/Budinger/Jeffries
    Scola/Hill/Patterson
    Yao/Miller/Hayes

The team is two deep at every position and if Patterson and Hill develop even more so than the team is even more dangerous. I am curious to see Lee's on the ball defense which scouting reports rave about (but honestly i haven't seen/remember myself I remember him more for his offense)

between him and Lowry off the bench the second unit can really fly up and down the court (with exception of Miller)

Now that I have had some time to get over the initial hit of the trade I am fine with it. Save Les a lot of money and while people scream that Les is being cheap I dont think it really affected the team's overall talent at all and it saved him money. Thats just a smart logical move. I mean everyone here had a way to save 10k without really sacrificing quality they would and we're talking 10 million here with Les.

and the end of the day though Oct 26th cant come soon enough

Money smart move...we saved 4 mill. I think they are trying to get insurance for martin, save $$, and let buddinger flourish

Trade does make some sense, but my gut tells me no.

Hornets got the ugliest end of this one.

So after reading some more I like the trade, but I'm still worried about our depth at the 3. But I guess it isn't too bad. And I've always liked Bud

I think this says more about Budinger than Ariza. Budinger forced his way into more minutes, now he has them.

Without looking it up..I want you all to look at these stats over the past 2 years.

    Player B
    Code:
Season	Age	MP	FG	FGA	FG%	3P	3PA	3P%	FT	FTA	FT%	ORB	DRB	TRB	AST	STL	BLK	TOV	PF	PTS
    2008-09	23	25.2	3.2	7	0.45	1.1	2.6	0.404	1	1.2	0.83	0.2	2.1	2.3	1.2	1	0.2	0.9	2	8.4

Come on now - that's not fair. That's not exactly an easy play to hit a desperation tip in lob from half court over a 7 footer(who goal tended by the way) from a funny angle too far under the backboard.

Wait can anyone confirm if Lee guarded Kobe in the finals?

If thats the case I will like the trade a lot more.

Ok so here is our defensive lineup

    C-Yao
    PF-Scola (maybe Jeffries)
    SF-Battier
    SG-Lee
    PG-Lowry

3 great defenders but not much offensive fire power. As we know Ariza could not hold it down at the 2. So this trade does make sense from a defensive standpoint.

Now this is what our roster depth looks like.

    C- Yao/Miller
    PF- Scola/Hill/Jeffries
    SF- Battier/Buddinger
    SG- Martin/Lee/Taylor
    PG- Brooks/Lowry

Does that look like a championship roster to you?

I thought the Lowry/AB backcourt had good efficiency or something? I remember Morey mentioning how Adelman liked to play the two together.

Oh and The_Yoyo, are you in the SoCal area? Do you guys have playoff viewing events? I'm in the OC and always wanted to hang with some Rockets fans.
