Les is just trying to be safe on this to see how many people still remember the scandal that Calvin had few years ago.
Ian Eagle and Steve Smith were awesome during the Nets game a couple of weeks ago. I was really impressed.
Bill is expressing his frustration lately at the porous Rockets defense. He truly is a fan of the team. Bill is a legend, I hope he retires a Rocket.
That's probably because one of those players consistently plays much better defense than the other one.
Bill is great. He fits in just well with Bull who offers the more in depth basketball analysis and a more neutral point of view. Away games are nice to hear. The issue is Clyde and his over exaggerations or saying the same things over and over.
Bill Worrell is a Houston institution. He sh1ts out red rockets on the can. Those that have a problem with him need to be fans of a different team.
Well, we could start with the distinction between Austin Rivers and Tony Parker.... ETA: Despite his lapses, I love Bill b/c you know he is a LEGIT fan. He gets frustrated as hell when these guys don't play to their potential and says exactly what a lot of fans are thinking most times. I can excuse sporadic senior moments from someone who really loves this team and truly gives a ****.
You are not a true Rockets fan if you don't like Bill Worrell. Worrell has been a constant on Rockets broadcasts for my entire 28 year plus fandom. I remember him doing broadcasts with McCoy McLemore on HSE. Screw the LOF and other bandwagon jumpers. Y'all's opinion doesn't count.
It's funny that some people actually want Worrell to be replaced or at the very least change his tune. Remember that the grass isn't always greener on the other side, so be careful what you wish for! I personally would hate to see Bill leave, he is without a doubt a true Rockets homer, and like others have mentioned a Rocket institution! The only other person who I think is a bigger homer is Calvin! He is by far the greatest critic of the Rockets because he truly does bleed Rockets Red and is 100% vested in this organization! Bullard has his moments and all Clyde try's to do is say is say something funny that offends no one, which get's annoying after a while. As far as Worrell criticizing Lin, well he deserves to be criticized! He has got to improve on his helter skelter approach to passing the ball! So don't hate on the guy for speaking the truth! As for the "He only picks on Lin" crowd, it wasn't very long ago that he was criticizing Harden for dribbling out the clock, which he still does on occasion, but not nearly as much as he was doing! So I guess it's safe to say that Bill is a..... L/HOH!.... right? ....... ....... .......
Disagree. You can be a true (insert team here) fan and still not like certain players, coaches, executives, stadiums, announcers, popcorn vendors, etc.
This. Bill is a part of Clutch City...Calvin too (and Bull actually for one year!) Let him stay as long as he wants!
Worrell is just as much a fan as the rest of us and should stay until he wants. but he needs to remain professional. Sometimes he goes on these rants that are unbearable to listen to.
Good news is... Whenever he hangs it up, we got a good one on deck in Ackerman. Hopefully, they put Craig there.
