I disagree with as much zeal as possible. Bill Worrell is an excellent announcer, and watching many different ones with league pass he truly is one of the best in the league.
I didn't see the broadcast, but give the guy a break. Most of the time he's got to fight the post-lobotomy Bullwinkle he has for a co-host as he's trying to do PBP. I'm sure his focus is thrown off.
Bill is one of the best in the game. As for this season, I get it that he has seemed whinier than most play by play guys. However, you have to realize how Bill is also a huge fan of this team, and with that comes all the frustration, highs/lows that you get from any fan. Maybe the Rockets should hire a guy who is less of a homer, but I dont care, Bill & Bull do a great job of speaking their mind. Bill has been through alot with this team, and I have no problem with him voicing the frustration. Very few play by play guys get that emotionally invested in the team they are working for.
Worrell's gotten too biased for my liking. His goggles are too red veiled, I'm afraid. Bullard, too. Oddly, the one everyone seems to have a problem with is Clyde, but I love him as a color guy (obviously not play-by-play) -- he's hilarious. But Bill's not going anywhere. Been there too long. Plus people are just knee-jerking in angry at this point, trying to find some scapegoat.
As a long time Rockets fan, your opinion is blasphemous. He's a loyal Houstonian and a staple of not only Houston Rockets basketball, but many of our lives as well. He's the only Rockets broadcaster I've ever known...and instead of b****ing you should be appreciating everything he represents. So GTFO...
We tanked for we have a reason to fire Worrell. Not a good enough jinx man when opponent at free throw line.
Uh, shouldn't our hometown color commentator be a homer? Not sure why that should be an insult. BW rules
