Because productivity of industry drastically rising while wages stagnante is one of the main culprits of wealth inequality increasing rapidly in the past few decades along with increases in prices for housing, education and healthcare.

    Yes please do.

No half of post are not hunting you down, you don't even cross my mind when I log on, get over yourself.

You can't debate anybody cordially, Major was just trying to do this and you questioned his empathy.

I was actually enjoying the conversation and then you went left with you questioning empathy and going in on moderates and Manchin.

Nobody is advocating to compromise for compromising sake I am advocating to hear Manchin out and I am trying to understand why he feels the way he does and not just chalking it up to him serving a corporate overlord.

Why don't you try it sometime.

You can't use "INDUSTRY" as the barometer for every job.

You definitely can't be using the nebulous term industry for setting the rate of minimum wage.

Can you show me where other countries do this?

I can as a starting point for a minimum wage.

And small ma and pa stores that are consumer facing such as restaurants will see immediate benefits from increased foot traffic to their stores.

Is this how other countries set it?

    Can you show examples?

Some will not and it will not happen automatically.

    Major already addressed this.

All work-related compensation is based on productivity (at varying levels), regardless of country, or time period, outside of things like slavery.

An example is the NBA. The cap is based on a % of revenue which is a result of the NBA's production, the cap is then allocated amongst the players based on their production

If this weren't true then no one can make the argument that corporations being more successful in maximizing profits is good for the rest of us because it "trickles down".

@jiggyfly doesn't understand that his argument essentially says that industry can thrive to record levels while workers' comp stagnantes while at the same time since industry is thriving, things like property values shoot up increasing the price of housing and rent.

The reality is the maximization of efficiency is legitimately a great thing. More production for less work is wonderful. Problems arise when the workers don't see the benefits from increased productivity, and instead just the less work part.

He addressed it for non-consumer facing small businesses as in supply chain businesses.

And I said that we can do what we did for the past fourty years but in reverse with trickle up especially since fed interest rates are low. Those supply chain businesses can pay upfront for the cost of increased labor costs with investment loans just like our economic growth for the past 40 years has been fueled by consumer debt (trickle down).

When is the last time I initiated a conversation with you? It seems like you are always the one who replies to me first with some insult.

And my point is that you start off by insulting me and have the audacity to say I'm not cordial. Your self-awareness is lacking. Ya that's an insult.

You are one of the last posters here who should be telling others to be cordial.

    We agree on this.

I just don't think it's as simple as raising the minimum wage and people that don't agree should not have people going for their head.

These are different topics. From production and wages, to the min wage, to political cohesion.

Biden, Chuck, and the Dems should absolutely not let Joe Manchin stop Biden's agenda, and they should absolutely curb stomp him and anybody else who attempts to do so, in my humble opinon.

"People who don't agree shouldn't voice criticism and frustration".

Because no one is literally going "after their heads".

And you can always explain why raising the minimum wage isn't PART of the solution.

Don't misrepresent our talking points by saying that we are arguing that rasing the minimum wage solves wealth inequality by itself.

Do you want me to write an apology letter to Joe Manchin?

    Who are you talking to?

Nick was the one saying going after the blue dogs head and no I was not taking it literally.

I never said raising the minimum wage was not part of the solution.

Talk about misrepresenting talking points. Lordy help me.

This is where I get off the wacky ride.

    PEACE OUT!
