Hey now. I'm for real. Final Cut was the first album of theirs I ever listened to, and what encouraged me to listen to their other albums. Piper at the Gates of Dawn is different, but I ate it up when I listened to it. As for Meddle, come on. Echoes and Fearless are great.
SRV for me is probably #1. DMB is there as well. Radiohead to a lesser extent, although I feel a lot of their support is from people who think they're supposed to like them b/c it's cool.
1. Jonas Bros. 2. Mumford & Sons (Alice Cooper was right, and people especially younger people think I'm weird for being a huge Alice Cooper fan). 3. Coldplay 4. My R&B pick -- Destiny's Child (I could never get into their music, when I was younger, most of my friends did)
C'mon, there were some good hair metal bands, out there . . . even the bad ones are actually digestible.
Alice Cooper was mostly wrong, and hypocritical... And ever so slightly right, due to terminology. http://www.deathandtaxesmag.com/202...rd-sons-rant-right-conclusion-wrong-evidence/ I love well done folk/alternative stuff, and any genre that borders it. Well done though. I guess well done anything is good... Though as I've gotten older inline well done classic rock that Cooper alludes to less and less compared to other genres. I think I just have learned to love subtler great music as opposed to in your face stuff - be it rock, or obnoxious rap (as opposed to truly gifted, subtle, musically intricate, lyrically complex rap)... That type of thing.
I have just created a list of anonymous people I never want to hang out with. If you don't get the first three listed, step 1 is load another bowl
When you say bands you just don't get, you mean/ not your taste? We're talking about a set of preference here? Me personally, I can say the Country genre, I can't get into any of that stuff.
pink floyd, radio head, guns and roses overrated? Ok now you guys are trolling. why like music at all!
The Eagles. System of a Down. Manic Street Preachers. Joni Mitchell. The Allman Brothers. Joan Baez. Lil Wayne. Pearl Jam. George Strait. The Decemberists. Band of Horses. Fiona Apple. Red Hot Chili Peppers.
