Astros vs. Braves

Not if they relieve Hudson with Sosa.

 

Didn't we all know that the Stros wouldn't take the easy road? Came down to the last game to clinch the wild card. We'll win game 5 for sure.

Edit: On second thought the braves bullpen should all give us hope

 

And who would you have thrown today? Backe was by far the most logical choice. No way you pitch Andy on 3 days rest when you are not facing elimination because then you screw yourself in game 5 if you happen to lose since you have to have Clemens go on a bad hammy on 3 days rest. Would you rather have Wandy out there? I don't get who you want to throw out there.

 

Exactly... we take game one easily then get hammered in game 2 with, of all pitchers, Clemens on the mound. Come back to take game 3. In position for the win today and now in a hole. It's already scripted...a game 5 win. But I would definitely take a comeback victory today

Well if Backe settles down and doesn't give up any more runs, then I'd say he's turned in a fairly good performance...if anything he'll keep the team in the game. But we can't expect to win if we don't put runs on the board.

 

Hudson is doing a Smoltz to us today....can we even get to their pen today

Ughhhhh yea Morgan getting robbed with an amazing catch,yep if thats not a sign we are headed back to Atlanta,nothing is.

 

Hudson is not pitching that great, it is more the impatience of the Astros hitters, they are striking out and swinging at pitches WAY WAY WAY out of the strike zone.

If they were more patient they would get him up in pitch count, get some traffic, some pitches to hit, and probably get to their horrid bullpen.

Come on Stros...use your fricken heads......don't let one hot headed pitcher named Backe ruin your playoff run....

Hudson continually throws pitches down and away with a lot of movement that is just off the edge of the strike zone. I would say it is pretty damn good pitching.

 

This is not good. Garn's now going to the pen. And we'll likely need the pen tomorrow night. Not the way we had it scripted. Maybe this ump will call a questionable balk on Hudson and break his concentration.

 

IF we do have to play tomorrow I would hope we don't need the pen with Pettite pitching.
