Seems like he's calling a tight zone for Clemens. But still, you don't let the #8 hitter beat you. Hope the Astros saved some runs from last night.
Whatever happens we need to get Smoltz's pitch count up ... We've got to get into that bullpen by the 7th or we are in serious trouble
The ump just called that same pitch a ball a minute ago. Then again he did the same thing for Roger the last half inning.
If you hit the catcher's mit without him moving and it's close to the zone, it is a strike. Roger's pitches have been close, but they aren't where Ausmus wants them so they have no chance being called strikes. That is the way it has ALWAYS BEEN!!!
Seriously... stop the ump whining. Smoltz looks like he has great control, whereas Roger has been all over the place. That could play a role in the ump's decision making, but its not like its Eric Gregg out there.
Still hitting his pitchs hard right at people,we will get some more runs,I feel it. Now just fix youself Roger.
I wasn't whining about the ump. I merely pointed out that he did the same thing for Roger. Roger had two pitches thrown to the same location, one was called a ball and the other a strike. I agree Roger is not getting squeezed. He's just doesn't have his usual command.
Clemens is just missing his spots today... he'll find a way to grind out 6-7 innings today. Let's just hope that the stros can keep it close till Smoltzie is pulled. The Braves seem to have to rely on the long ball to drive in their runs. You noticed Andy made a few mistakes early yesterday and the Braves got their three runs off of homers. After he settled down, he was down right unhittable.
I think the announcers want to Sex Smoltz up!!!! Can they be any further up his arse. Jesus, does Ted Turned own Fox now? I haven't heard anything is so.
