Based on the rules, Chad Qualls was still considered a rookie this year even though he pitched in 25 games in 2004.
That would be truly awful if it was a 1-0, or 2-1 game either way and that happened (although, for obvious reasons, I wouldn't argue it if it was the Astros on top). I would hope MLB would try to get the entire game in no matter what... even if they have to resume play around midnight.
the good thing is you have two great pitchers, so the game should go quickly... unless of course we get like 10 runs again
if theres ever a game you don't want to start later than scheduled it's tonights. there is rain bearing down in on atlanta and they're going to have to squeeze this one in and they start 15 mins late.
Willy amazes me sometimes. He can hit some of the most difficult pitches (albeit not very far) and he gets blown away by some right down the middle.
I know Morgan wishes he had that first pitch back... but I don't mind making Smoltz throw some pitches early. He hasn't thrown for 2 weeks, and the shoulder could still become a problem. Damnit... Lane got that same first pitch and just pulled it foul.
