The 18 mill this season was to make up for the 3 he played for last year, I imagine he'd come back for around 10ish.
weatherunderground.com says that there still is a 100% chance of rain tonite.... Rain, rain, go away, please come another day
One promising thing is that all day, weather.com has shown an 80-90% chance of rain throughout the day and the radar around Atlanta has shown no rain at all. Maybe the 40% chance that they give it tonight will be nothing I'm thinking MLB is going to try their hardest to get this game in for 2 reasons: 1) Fox has their prime time schedule tonight built around this game 2) The weather tomorrow doesn't look any better, and may be even worse. If they can't play tomorrow then you are up a creek with Saturday's game being in H-Town.
They just said on ch.13 sports that MLB said they will get this game in tonight. They don't expect the weather to be any worse than it is now. 13 said it was just a light mist right now and is expected to stop.
Guys, this is out of topic but i have a doubt. Why is Espn qualifying Ryan howard for rookie of the year if he played Mlb game before this season? Is he a rookie yet? http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2169228
i'm not sure what the official rule on this is but he only played 19 games his first season. I'm guessing there's a certain number of games that you have to play or number of AB's to qualify you for a full season
We all know howard is going to be the better player tho'. That guy will probably hit 40 plus next year and after that Taveras will be nobody special by comparison unless he can steal a 100+ bases. It'll be better for baseball if Howard wins it so the marketing machine can kick in. And like I said, no big deal, cause he'll be the better player when it's all said and done. That said, Taveras had a worthy year and deserves it.
After looking at the radar loop i dont think they're going to get the game in. Maybe they could beat the rain if the game started at 6 but i just dont see us getting in a full game before that heavey stuff gets to atlanta.
I love the fact that Fox STILL Has the old blue-gold Astros logo batting helmet in their studio background. I figured last year, they just weren't expecting us to be there and were caught off-guard... this year, its unacceptable. Somebody buy Fox a new Astros batting helmet.
It's gonna be HUGE today to get out to a lead early. You definitely do not want to be behind tonight after the 5th inning because you never know when the game might be over.
