For a transplanted Houstonian, ESPN blows when it comes to coverage of/bias against Houston teams.

Just be thankful for the internet.

What I hate most about the game possibly pushing, is this allows Smoltz one more day of rest.

Smoltz doesn't want another day of rest, he hasn't pitched in 20 days... this helps Roger more then it helps Smoltz. With that said I can't BELIEVE that God would allow our one primetime spot in the NLDS in years being rained out... WHY GOD WHY?!?!

Isn't it always considered "stealing a win" when the road team wins a game in a playoff series?

I went to the last post in the thread and all I saw was Double D saying "I could care less if we win the world series" and I thought...'DaDa is an Astros fan so why is he so dispassionate about the 'Stros going to the WS'???

then I saw what you were talking about.

I think we'll be OK tonight. It looks like this is moving out of the area. Crossing my fingers because I can't handle another day game.

on weather.com's hour-by-hour, they have an 80% chance of rain at 6 p.m. and a 50% chance at 7 p.m....and a 40% chance at 8 p.m. eastern time, of course. so decreasing chance of rain as the night goes on. keep your fingers crossed.

Keep in mind, also, they play through light rain. So if it's just showers, they'll likely play I would assume. Partly because it's Atlanta's front office's call (and they'd rather play today to prevent Roger from getting extra rest) and if you delay until tomorrow then (1) Smoltz isn't likely as available for a relief stint on Sunday or Monday and (2) if it's still raining tomorrow, you've got a major problem.

Is it still the home-team's call during the playoffs? I would figure that MLB would take over that, to avoid teams calling/playing games to try to work it to their team's advantage... like the Cardinals postponing a game against us 2 years ago, 4 hours before the scheduled time (the weather was actually not that bad... definitely playable), just because they were about to get swept and Oswalt was pitching against a lineup that had no Pujols or Edmonds (injuries).

It's the league's call at this point.

Re: the ESPN announcers, you guys are really grasping at straws. I took it as nothing but respect that it was a win for Atlanta just to get Lidge warming up. As if to say, this dude's so invincible that they got the moral victory of inconveniencing him to get up.

There's no bias here folks. They were nutting over our pitching all night. I loved the "If Cy Young himself was in this rotation, he'de have to be the #4."

If I hear another ignorant caller call into 610 and complain about the announcers I'm gonna puke... who gives a rats ass what they think, all that matters is that final score.
