I was at Baker Street Pub in the village and it was great. I have no idea how Palmeiro's bases loaded flyout did not go yard. It looked great off the bat.

Score some freakin runs for Roger now!

They were talking about the wind blowing in all day... I have a feeling it played a role.

Anybody else weary about the forecast for tommorow for Atlanta?? It says its going to rain all day and all night (90% chance). I'm not sure who a rain-out really favors: Clemens (and the bullpen - Wheeler) get another day of rest, but the Braves and Smoltz get the same... as well as another day to get over this humiliation.

Of course, last year they played the very next afternoon, and we lost... so momentum kinda gets neutralized sometimes, anyways.

That sucks! Man, it should be mandatory for citie's to buy ball parks that have a roof that can close. I hope it doesn't get rained out.

I managed to watch the game at Champps in Northern Virginia...i was sitting across the bar from 2 idiotic Braves fans that were clapping it up on the 2 homers. hahaha, by the end, they were clapping their loudest when they managed to end an inning or get an out ;) I turned semi-loud because they were annoying me..

then i looked over after the 5 run 8th, and the guy was gone! Never to return, leaving his girl with 2 other girls to talk and semi-pay attention to the game.

LOVED it all! wish I coulda been posting at the same time, hahaha

Or according to the ESPN announcers, it was ATL that had the momentum. Don't be deceived because they got blown out, they scored a grand total of two runs in the 8th and 9th!

shhhh. Don't you even think about maybe wanting us to lose Saturday. ;) I'm going to be there. How sweet it would be to be the final game of a sweep.

They were working the ATL audience on that one...they know that braves fans are very easily lost at the first sign of defeat.

unlike astros fans...we will watch no matter.

I kid you not, ESPN SC just said this on the preview for SC.

"The Braves bats do their dammage, but the red hot Astros steal a win."

Okay, which team had red hot bats tonight?! How in the hell did we "steal" a game?! It wasn't close at all.

i know us houstonians are real picky about negativity towards us from the national folks...

but i really didn't notice all this stuff yall keep bringing up. sure there were a couple of comments but they weren't in any way to slight us. i mean their biggest thing was 'oh no now lidge is warming up'. if anything thats a huge compliment to us that they dont even expect our closer to come up in a playoff game we win.

they were jocking andy the whole game i thought. it wasn't that bad. enjoy the win. stop finding issues with everything.

I know, man. I know.

I think with all the "experts" picking the Astros to go to the WS this year, you have to expect that kinda stuff. We aren't proven, but we aren't exactly the underdogs. Just remember that there isn't any way they can spin it for Atlanta after we wrap up this series.

That's how I think about it, anyway.

And, last year it wasn't so much about not giving the Astros any credit as it was never shutting up about Beltard going to the NYY and showing Larry's dad stuffing down hotdogs in the 4th row.

Ignore the media, they're just trying to dig up a bone. The Astros were originally slight favorites to win this series just like we were last year against the Braves. The media pretends to be oblivious to that and doesn't give the Astros the proper respect they deserve as a result. There is no reason why the so called 'experts' in the media are any more knowledgable about our Astros than we are, after all we've been focused on them all season. Rest assured that the Astros are now sizable favorites to win this series and contend with the Cardinals in the NLDS.

The wind seemed to hurt us more than them. I recall more Astros hits going to the warning track and farther that didn't make it out.

I really hope we play Thursday because we ate their bullpen up. Lidge could go 2 innings now and still have a day off to rest. Even though the announcers we're screaming "Oh no! Lidge is warming up." That's advantage Houston all the way!

Really? At one point, one of 'em (I think it was Phillips) actually said, "This is a big victory for the Braves". A big victory for a team that was getting utterly blown out at home. A big victory because Houston used Wheeler and Gallo and had Lidge warming up.

You may not have noticed it, but it was some of the most pathetic "analysis" I've ever heard. The Braves own broadcast team isn't that shameless. It was a joke.
