i wish we could save some of those runs for tomorrow for roger, but it's great to the stros capitalize in that situation. they had a perfect opportunity to put the game away and did it, that's great to see.
They'll probably point out all our innings where we've left the bases loaded and say... "see, they're a bad team! Any decent playoff team would have scored 20 runs today!" I'm sorry, but that's just not how baseball works. You're always bound to leave a big inning with runners stranded, and you're eventually going to break thru in those situations as well.
The color guys seem to be just making it up as they go along, honestly. Earlier in the game, calling Morgan Engsberg an "aggressive" hitter? What kind of hitter wants to take a walk with the bases loaded? Morgan would - any Astros fan could've told you that. But, I will say - it's infinitely better than last year when we had to listen to the announcers constantly fawn over Furcal playing through the distraction of going to jail for a second drunk driving arrest. They've also not mentioned who's playing center either.
It helps that we're facing probably the 2nd worst bully in the playoffs. Boston will give them a run for their money for the title of "worst bullpen".
Is it too much to ask for the announcers to talk about the game they're announcing instead of hearing about the Red Sox for the EIGHT MILLIONTH TIME???? Bad enough all our games are on in the afternoon.
Great... now we have to worry about not having Wheeler available tomorrow or not if this inning really extends him and taxes his arm. Then again.. Lidge could just throw two innings tomorrow with a day off on Friday
We actually get a prime time game tomorrow night. Though I'm sure it's only because Roger's starting. How many times will they mention the Yankees during the game tomorrow night?
