iverson was always a liability on the defensive end. his steals average is in fact a perfect argument for it. he averaged those steals because he gambled in the passing lanes too much. it's no coincidence that iverson had his only successful years when he was surrounded by great defensive players in a great defensive system.

if the said trade would go down i'd probably fly in to houston to fire morey myself. but, i believe in morey. he isn't stupid.

wow...I think he did....what is with this proposterous ASS-Umpitons, and all the man love for Aaron Brooks?? I know the cat may be good, but hence he MAY be good, we don't know yet. AI averaged 33 ppg once season....do you see Aaron Brooks doing this at all in his career? I think not....

Jesus, I have heard the same thing from a couple different places. That is why I posted it. Another poster said he heard the same thing as well.

Stature wise yes (as in bigger guards post him), Allen Iverson isn't the defender some posters are trying to paint him.

Although if Brooks does improve, we'd have the fastest pg rotation in the league. I remember when AB first for pt and he really did resemble AI zipping around everybody.

Production-wise, we can literally only hope. Aesthetically the quickness is the only thing making the two comparable. AB needs to use his speed to penetrate more often taking contact to bridge the gap further.

If this trade goes down, it'll be interesting to see the backup battle between a refocused and healthy SF and AB on the ascent. Could be good for us.

Learn to read before you make "ASS-Umpitons" yourself, the only thing I compared was their size and liability on the defensive side of the court. (and guess what, that can be compared) Please don't try to put additional words in my mouth.

So this trade doesn't have any legs does it? What are you hearing from the Denver front?

Look, as far as whether or not we SHOULD do such a trade, well, why the hell not?

It wouldn't even matter that AI is more of a 2 than a 1. TMac handles the ball a lot anyway. AI has at least one more very good year ahead of him, especially with the motivation of playing for a ring. I don't know who would be sent off to match salaries but the only potential weakness I would see in the aftermath is solidifying either the 2 or the 3 (depending on what spot Tracy takes).

WILL it happen? I want to know where the rumor started, if there's some guy in his grandma's basement smoking doobage through his Darth Vader helmet and laughing at the reaction on this site to what he invented.

Well put. Agreed on all points.

Folks, why should we care if a player is a future HOF, it's about what he has in the tank right now, and whether his talents mesh with whatever teammates he has. If we were talking about getting the AI of 2001, or even the AI of a few years ago, yeah, it's a no brainer, he was that talented.

But AI depends on his quickness and this could easily be the year Father Time will start to catch up to him. He's not just over 30, he's 33 already. Ask Mike James how that's working out.

People are all too glad to throw under the bus a team that still hasn't lost with Scola and Yao as starters together, and put together the 2nd longest winning streak of all friggin' time. Sure, a third scorer would help us, but we have until the trade deadline to get one in a less drastic fashion.

There's no reason to panic to go all-in for one year in the hopes that Iverson still has enough in the tank to more than offset the loss of continuity and defense.
