Walking out on your team while they battling for a playoff spot is UNFORGIVABLE. I'm sure he regrets it and understands what he did was wrong but you just CAN'T do that and expect everything to be the same.
I am pretty sure that if that was the only thing going on, AB would still be with the Rockets. That was just a part of it. Combine that with his diminished scoring ability, upcoming contract year, and disgruntlement over demotion and playing time, you end up with a potential train wreck that DM most likely wanted to avoid.
Fixed. Didn't mean to have year there. There is also the fact that we already tied a big chunk of money to Lowry and that Lowry was playing so well.
Maybe she hasn't posted it in here yet, but she has mentioned it. Aaron rocked that Red Blazer. I wish I bought one.
Winning that game meant we held the tie breaker over the Grizz. AB walked out like the loser he is. Next.
Thanks for everything Aaron. I definitely won't forget what you did in years past for us. We have moved on now.
that makes him a loser? You do realize he's the reason we made it past the first round in over a decade? Or was that before you hopped on the wagon? Apart from Yao destroying the blazers the first game and being mostly ineffective after, brooks destroyed blake vs portland and fisher vs LA. Hell, if it weren't for brooks, we would have been swept , and you would be stupid to deny that.
When u turn out to be an egomaniac that's walks out on a team..all he accomplished before goes out the window..(exp..t-mac) hes shown that he still needs to grow up..still wish him well in the future..
your comparing the brutal suffering tmac caused this organization for 5 yrs to brooks? Thats insulting to both intelligence and the rockets in general. T-Mac pouted, drained the rockets dry, made empty promises and took throne of the biggest drama queen on the planet. Your comparing him to a player who has had a bad year because of unfortunate events and making a mistake out of frustration, once in a three year tenure. The double standard is glaring. When it comes to the end result, hell, I'll blame Yao for walking out on the team every season, in crutches. Talk about actually screwing us over.
Ron Ron and Von Wafer did just as much as AB against portland. Yao was still beasting too. AB had his 15 minutes. Next Fan since 92.
Back when we gave Lowry his due, I wrote that it looked like AB was going. So whatever reasons people think were ammo for moving him, they were in place some time ago.
Seems Suns fans on realgm are 50/50 on this trade as well. Many of them feel the GD has regressed this year because of the roster changes, included on last year`s 2nd unit was Amundson, Dudley, Frye. Guys that opened up the lane for him to drive and dish. Frye now plays on the first unit, and Amundson plays of GS. A lot of fans feel that he`s more of a SG than a PG. I felt like AB was one of our better shooters, but this year it seems like he never got back to where he was last year. He definitely lost some respect after the whole suspension incident. I like this trade long-term, but I think AB could have helped out more THIS year.
battling for a playoff spot? are you kidding Anyway thanks for the 09 playoff run Brooks. you brought a quiet toughness to the team
how are we not battling for a playoff spot..we are 3 games out of the playoffs and have one of the easiest schedules after the all-star break...
You and I may not have seen it that way but I bet every single one of those players, coaches and management were fighting for a shot at the playoffs and their perspective is all that matters. What they should do is up for us to debate but what they will do is up to the players to execute.
Most of the people who bash AB are just guys who like bashing anyone. It's a sort of 'big man' act on the board; they love being able to criticize someone.
The only players I've ever "bashed" on here are Aaron, Budinger, and Hill. What do they all have in common? No, not DD. They have all at one time or another hurt the team or contributed greatly to losing. In the case of Brooks, he did that this year(not entirely his fault) AND held back what was in my opinion(and now proven to be management's opinion) a better player last year. With that said, this is an appreciation thread and that is what I will do. Aaron, I appreciate the assets that you've yielded us. Good luck in Phoenix or where ever you end up.
