Thank goodness for AB! It's obvious that his biggest problem was confidence and frustration. now that he has his head on straight, I'm pretty sure that tonight was no fluke. There is no reason he can't provide a valuable offensive spark. Btw, Playing with Yao so much, AB should be able to make the entry pass to Dwight
Brooks has clearly matured as a player and as a father. I think it bodes well for this team to have a guy like him ready to play off the bench. He's not selfishly looking to get his, he just wants to help the team win and contribute in any way he can. In a lot of ways, it has made him a much better player as well. Lots of guys get stuck in their own heads worrying about playing well or up to expectations or making a name for themselves. Players usually play the best when they live in the moment and let their talent and preparation take over, which was clearly the case in this last game.
Bill's excited words "AB for 3!!!" always bring back good memories of his sensational run with us circa 2009 and 2010 (to think he did that with Ariza by his side). And tonight ... against Adelman shooting his pull-up 3s from all over the court ... Hope he can give us more whenever we need him. It's a good story that he has made peace with the Rockets for trading him. He was always proud to represent HOU. He should give that red suit to Harden to wear.
Man, AB is showing Asik how it's done. He's become a consumate pro, not complaining about minutes and then stepping out and getting the job done when called upon. He's gonna be real valuable as our 3rd pg, when Lin is ice cold and Bev can't hit a bucket from the 3.
Saw the boxscore and had to look twice to believe it was really his points and not his minutes that I read. Then 6 out of 7 threes and I was 100% sure. So glad he finally had the kind of game we all knew he was capable of. Hope he can contribute more now, because this can't be a fluke. How can a 20 ppg scorer all of a sudden not get 20 anymore on a regular basis? The answer is he can, all he needs is some time, confidence and consistency.
I had a deja vu nostalgic feeling of the old Aaron Brooks taking over the game. I am sure we will be seeing more of him. I am glad Mchale trusted him. He is another weapon in our arsenal.
maaaan I said AB could be a starter on some teams like a few weeks ago and people thought I was crazy... also yay my username might be relevant again
Whoops! Sorry guys, haven't really followed the Rockets until recently. I never knew AB had it in him! Morey is a wizard!
Brooks-Beverly-Lin-Harden-Howard OKC/LAC buster incoming? Harden and Lin have shown to be adequate post defenders outside of guarding skilled post men ( very few in number) or pure physical specimen (tend to be raw players). Let Howard crash the boards without much concern, and let Beverly be a satellite/long rebounder. Alternate Pick and rolls and move the ball.
ab after the game lol http://www.nba.com/video/channels/nba_tv/2013/11/24/20131123-alink-aaron-brooks.nba
That's like super small ball though. I think either TJones or Parsons should be on the floor at all times. Casspi and Cisco haven't been that great lately...
The NBA TV interview was funny. The last question was something like: "wow, this is the most points you've put up since about 2010. How does it feel?" He said, something like "oh, dang." long pause... "thank you I appreciate it." Glad to have Brooks deep on our bench.
