I wouldn't be happy but I wouldn't consider it some failure or disappointment like people viewed the Cubs season. The Astros had a few more breaks go their way than the Yankees in the ACLS. If that gets turned around this year, I'll be annoyed my team lost but it'd still be within expected limits for me.

So what you're really telling us is that you're not one of the "cooler heads that react more appropriately". :D

Alright Icarus you are setting yourself up for a ton of potential disaster with that WS title or heads should roll mentality.

I can't tell other people how they should feel about things, but winning a WS is extremely tough and requires a lot of things to bounce your way. We could easily get bounced before the WS. If that happens, it will be a very easy elimination for me to tolerate.

This is already the greatest era in Astros history, and the second greatest in the entire history of our city.

My emotions dont always follow logic. While I may ask for someones head on a pike, its purely an emotional response. Yes, unlike 2011-13 where there was no where to go but up, now the reverse is true. And yes, potential disaster is probably in the cards for me, if not this year, certainly eventually. Poor me

I just hope we don't have the daily complaining every time the Astros concede a game or don't run Peacock out there to preserve every lead or whatever else. That was the most obnoxious part of last season.

If you put 2/3 of the forum on ignore, you might realize that hope.

At least you’re not afraid to admit who you really are... and judging by the tone of your posts, it seems like you annoy even yourself.

The rabbit hole of ones psyche can be complicated for sure, but I wouldn't say I am odds with myself. Instead, different parts of myself emphasize different things. Or different parts emerge based on the subject at hand.

    I wouldn't say a team with a 0.210 BABIP got more breaks.

Are you sure you’re not annoying yourself? Sounds like that mindset would change for you on a dime.... based on the subject at hand.

Sure the Astros could win 85 games this year and have a fall back to earth like the Cubs. However at the end of the day the Astros won a WS and it wasn’t a cheap victory, it was well earned and against very good competitive clubs.

So much goes into winning a WS that is beyond a teams control that it isn’t fair to take the position of repeat or bust. Just enjoy the ride. We already got the payoff for this group, and no matter what happens now this group is the best team in Astros history.

I will still get fired up and emotionally invested as ever but this team has already met my expectations.

So, based on three sentences, you know enough about my psyche to make this assertion?

Maybe its you who are trying to annoy me

So what @jim1961 is telling us is to expect more Springer should not hit leadoff threads.

I'm emptying my Astros-related ignore list until May 1. Everyone deserves a chance to redeem themselves.
