The speech was appropriate. He's now not a campaigner, but President-Elect. What I took away from it is that he will continue to rely on the support of the people to help him change things and that he's already started thinking about and planning how he will govern. The next 90 days will be an amazing contrast as Obama lays out his policies and appointees and the current administration limps to 1/20 amongst unpopular Executive Orders and pardons.

What a special night. It feels like we've reaffirmed to the world all the things we've always believed in this country. I look forward to seeing where Obama leads us.
I wasn't born in the U.S. but I have never being more proud of being an American. This is amazing on so many levels. I've said it before, as "progressive" as Europe has being, they come no where close to the U.S. in trully re-examining it self and moving forward. I don't see any other western nation electing non-white minorities, heck how many Jewish head of state do you see in non-Israel European nations. I wonder how long it will before I see some of Korean descent lead Japan, a minority (i.e. Tibetans) lead China. This is an amazing example of how the U.S., with all its flaws, are trully the nation of the future, that's willing to change. I'm proud to have voted this year, even if it was in Texas. Now let's hoep we made the right choice.

With 99% precincts reporting, they are within 300 votes in Missouri. Imagine if this election was close and came down to that...
Missouri will go McCain, a Rep county is the only one left with votes. No joke it is "Christian" county. Maybe this will stain Missouri's rep as a decider and their inflated sense of political importance.
Great map, GB! Anyone still want to argue which city and county are the most liberal in Texas? Jeff? Anyone? This illustrates why I moved here in 1980, after making countless trips to Austin and the surrounding area since the mid-'60's. This kind of stuff fascinates me. Travis County Obama - 64% McCain - 35% Dallas County Obama - 57% McCain- 42% Bexar County Obama - 52% McCain - 42% Harris County Obama - 50% McCain - 49%
The margin in Harris county is smaller than I expected while the margin in Dallas county is larger than I expected.
