Are you sure you are not a Republican... with that pacyhderm-like memory?

I only defended that in one thread about seven years ago... mostly just to get your gourd. I knew/know nothing about Ted Nugent until that thread. You need to let it go....

Are you a man or a machine? How about those NJ Republicans?

Is there really any doubt that calling someone a "r****d" is very insensitive? There was a thread in here a year or so ago and this was resoundingly affirmed (pretty much unanimously)/

But now the exception comes up when a "certain segment" of the board wants a colorful and risky term of disparagement to use against a flock of poll-takers who are Republican...

    How very brave and upright!!!!!!!!!

earlier you said the word r****d as a noun can be only used for either something automotive or for people with limited mental capacity

I simply showed it can also be used for people who are stupid and idiots

I like how the main disagreement with BJ's (sorry, had to use that abbreviation just once) post is pure semantics and political correctness of a term. You knew what he meant, whether it was politically correct or not (and since when is an Internet forum a politically correct locale?).

giddyup is not a r****d. That would be offensive. He is a person who is stupid, obtuse, or ineffective in some way; a changeling, cretin, half-wit, idiot, and an imbecile.

Alternatively, perhaps we could debate the good points of being called a r****d. I mean, it's not all bad, right? Why oh why does giddyup always jump to these conclusions instead of considering the alternative implied meanings??!!?!! He must not be very enlightened. :p

It would interesting to have known if they thought Bill Clinton was the anti-Christ.

What a motley crew the GOP/conservative group has become.

Literally? As in this poll? Of course not. Liberals, by and large, aren't crazy idiots. And we are considerably less likely to believe in (gasp) LUCIFER!!!

The dictionary is full of totally "correct" but antiquated meanings. Do you remember when a cigaret used to be a ***? Funny but nobody uses that anymore. Usage is what is important here; I dare you to use r****d in an objective way in a conversation with ten people you work with (or otherwise want to impress)... let's see how they react. Bet you won't do it... and I wouldn't either. In fact, I don't!

Are you saying people never use r****d when they mean stupid or idiot anymore?

I won't use r****d with people I work with. Same with stupid or idiot. Point is calling someone r****d is not any different than calling someone stupid or an idiot.

belief in Lucifer does not make you a crazy idiot, unless of course, belief in Gabriel does as well. or do you simply believe that anyone that believes in God or the Devil is a crazy idiot?

i don't believe in either of course, but i do put my faith in Earl.

I have never met someone who literally thought GWB was a major figure from the Bible, no. Not even in San Francisco.

But I have met people who truly seem to believe Obama confirms the scripture of the Antichrist.

Ha, no. At the most, he was a Satan wannabe trying his best to make it into a particular Rolling Stones song.
